CBS/AP continue to manufacture this story. I have yet to see a varsity Republican complain about how Pelosi travels on my dime.

"Pelosi: I'll Fly Commercial If I Have To"
Is there no end to what this brave woman will endure for her country? I'm sure she'll have no problem finding many other ways to pilfer the public purse to fund her imperial lifestyle. The Clintons, along with Hazel O'Leary, wrote the book on it.

So in the original article it states that Murtha threatened (my wording) the Pentagon that they should be careful because Pelosi holds the money for their dept. (Paraphrased by me)
Wow, glad to see the dems are working hard for ethics change!

Perhaps no varsity Republican has been asked to comment.
Or varsity Repubs who might have commented were not re-elected.
It's a story because the plane she was offered was not satisfactory, and she wanted a more extravagant one.
The fact that she's backing down now shows that she doesn't like how she's coming across.
And "I'll fly commercia" so I can get home to my family is bogus. She can get home much faster to her family with a plane at her disposal that might have to stop for re-fueling than she can flying commercial.

That's a PERFECT image for Pelosi!

Nobody's ever disputed she needed access to a plane. The story is the plane type and size. Too damn bad if she has to refuel on the way to SF.

Prime Minister Blair flies commercial.
Prince Charles and Cammilla came into USA. So real royalty flies commerical.
So Pelosi thinks she's above these folks?

What is the big deal about going non-stop? Or is that only for the little people? I'm glad she's "willing to fly commercial" on our dime. Most airlines have specially negoitated government rates ... of course, those seats are all in coach.

Addressing a swarm of reporters on Capitol Hill on Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded to the controversy over her desire to fly in an Air Force transport plane by saying that she would have no problem flying commercially if a secure military plane is not offered. So in other words, she will continue to fly in a military plane until one is not available.

She states that it's because SHE is the first woman Speaker. Blah, blah, blah.
What a big crybaby! Someone should tell her she doesn't get a crown to wear either! She wore a royal shade of purple on swearing in day also. That says it all.
