I think it was the Detroit Tigers who said to Ralph Kiner during contract talks: "We can finish in last place with you, or without you." Some how this statement seems appropriate here. When Rather was shown the door, CBS could have hired anybody. Who did they hire? The good looking super liberal morning anchor babe with minimal reporting experience. She was a step up from Bozo the Clown, but that's it.

I saw Perky on the pre-Super Bowl show. Can you spell DESPERATION? What a hoot.

I chortled the first time they ran a promo for her. Then every promo after that the laughs got louder and longer at how desperate they were.

They ran more promos for her than for the Criminal Minds episode that followed the SB. Got to be a television first.
