The replacement for R-12 is R-134. I heard it is doing more damage than R-12.

Thanks.
I also seem to remember that the "gubmint" forced the automakers to develop catalytic converters independently due to antitrust concerns, costing the Big Three hundreds of millions of dollars.
Fools.

It's a smaller molecule. The whole R12 and CFC thing was a money making scam, mandated by law, in the name of environmentalism, and dare you disagree with it, you will be branded as a bad guy.

BTW, what ever happened to the Acid Rain scare years past? Remember that? Remember how we were told all forests in the East would be dead by now? Add that to the list with global cooling and the coming Ice Age talked about in the late 70s.

These topics are trendy BS issues, but they gain a sort of momentum in society which like a locomotive will run right over you if you stand in their way. People like Gore are the conductors of these largely "made up" issues. They profiteer from these made up problems for which of course they have the answers (cure). The incredible part of these trendy made up issues touted by demagogues like Gore (Who flies all over the planet to give his speeches and lives a life of utter decedent luxury) is that the people out there keep falling for it and the media gives them complete credibility.
