A congressional source who read the letter signed by Assistant Secretary of Defense Robert Wilkie said it essentially limits her to the commuter plane used by former Speaker J. Dennis Hastert, which requires refueling to travel from Washington to Mrs. Pelosi's San Francisco district. A second source, in the Bush administration, confirmed the contents of the letter.

Fingers crossed the Pentagon, (and President Bush), don't cave on this. I remember how generous Bush has been with military aircraft, he had the Pentagon retrieve Bill Clinton from an Australian golf trip on 9-ll.

According to FNC this morning, the plane Pelosi wants is the next one up that's available, seats 42, has a crew of 16, a stateroom (gag me), an entertainment center (whatever the heck that is), and a communications center.
