Sen. Lieberman understands the stakes and that we need to be united against a common, vicious enemy, who wants to kill us all.

I hope he will realize how anti-American and treasonous the Democrats are and abandons them completely.

From another article:

Indeed, said Lieberman, the Library of Congress confirmed that "never before, when American soldiers have been in harm's way, fighting and dying in a conflict that Congress had voted to authorize, has Congress turned around and passed a resolution like this, disapproving of a particular battlefield strategy."

6 years of Joe knifing them in the back on Iraq...thinking about the wailing on DU about it almost makes up for us having had to deal with the Gang of Fourteen.

But just almost.

Lieberman Easily Aligns With Republicans (accuses Dems of giving strength to the enemy)

Meanwhile, another headline SHOULD be...

Giuliani Easily Aligns With Liberal Democrats (accuses Conservative Republicans of giving strength to the sanctity of LIFE (particularly for the unborn), to the 2nd Amendment, to the institution of marriage between a man and a woman, to enforcing the law of the land where illegal aliens are concerned, etc., etc., etc.)

The Corner published his speech to the Senate on Tuesday, and it read like a Mark Steyn column. The gutless punks in the Senate would crawl under a rock if they had any shame at all.

He flat out waxed their asses, and when the history of this time is written, his speech on the senate floor on 2-6-07 will be one for the ages.

But Mr. Lieberman also went further, accusing Democrats of giving strength to the enemy and abandoning the troops..

That was too much even for one Republican member, Senator John W. Warner of Virginia.

It's getting harder and harder to tell who's actually a Republican in Washington these days.

Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, erstwhile Democrat...

And, NYT, a full-time man of honor, courage and sheer decency.

Shoot, if he ran for President again I'd vote for him. Of course, he'd never get his party's nomination.

I think he realizes also that Israel stands on the precipice of destruction. Rightly figuring that if American Democrats can't even support their own country and their own military against IslamoFascists, Israel has no hope for being supported against an attack by Iran and Syria.

One of the reasons the Dems won't open up the Iraq debate to more than one proposal or amendment is that a vote on yanking funding from the troops will push Lieberman from the Dems to the Reps formally, permanently. So the Dems are in a hard place. They won't get their one proposal "debate" (over the Warner proposal), but they can't allow more than this. Lieberman-once-Loserman has them.

If the RINOS had half the balls that Joe L (as reported) has, then the Republicans would be in a lot better shape. The Dem/RINO show is a pathetic revue. Coleman, Warner and the rest, what the f are you thinking? even if hitlery makes it in, do you have a spine for God's sake????

Anyone who takes a stand opposed to the position approved by the Dems is a brave guy, in my book.

I like Joe, he's a reliable supporter of our brave troops, as opposed to that a$$hole Chuck Hagel, who has as much a chance of winning the presidency as I do.

What is the object of the 'surge'?

Isn't it designed to root out terrorists and make Baghdad more secure?

To reduce Iraqi civilian and US troop casualties?

If so, How can the Dims claim to 'Support the Troops' on one hand and on the other refuse a tactical operation that would result in fewer casualties??

"That Jew bastard!"

Interesting how the Dems win the Senate but at the same time a pro war liberal has to run as an independent and wins. so instead of it being 51-49 against the war its 50-50. Of course then Johnson has a stroke and the pro war numbers get the majority. Good for Joe that Zionist. /sarc
