Substitute "New Orleans" for "Iraq", and you could write the same story

"Who in their right minds would send 360 tons of cash into a war zone?" asked Rep. Waxman.

Treasury = Secret Service.

The cash was likely spiked with multiple tracing mechanisms that will prove much more valuable than the money itself.

It went to the same place the New Orleans money went... Into a black hole.

Hey, where did all that money for the "War on Poverty" go?

We need to look into that also.

Bremer.

There's a whole lotta things jacked up in Iraq with Jerry's name attached to them. This guy has proved himself to be a State Department buffoon of the highest order.

Waxman is the biggest scumbag to hold office.

Well, except for Lahey. And, possibly, Hillary. Well, Murtha sucks too.

Ah heck. Nevermind.

I assume these are the same people who would criticize if funding had not been provided quickly enough?

By definition, doing something fast means doing it with fewer oversight mechanisms and more waste. That is the cost of doing something quickly. Often the cost of not doing it quickly is greater.

I worked for several months in Gulfport after Katrina. Many of the government's bid control mechanisms were bypassed in the interests of getting work done quickly, and doubtless some irregularities occurred as a result. Yet I am personally aware of one single case where about $2M in damage turned into $10M in damage due to delay caused by bureaucracy.

This will go on for the next two years. Investigate this and that and throw around a lot of BS ,some of it will stick. We knew this was the Dem plan long before they got elected.

Waxman is an ass a little goofy looking ass.

They were handing out tons of cash from the back of pick up trucks

I can't remember the last time the government did this for Americans
