Maybe you should take a dose of STFU for a bit. Have you heard the lies that Bush's 'spokesman' Tony Snow told Sean Hannity last week regarding the trial transcripts? And don't forget that it is the Bush administration that has been lying to congress about the character of the agents, and that it is the Bush administration that has been treating our Border Patrol Agents and the Minutemen as the enemy.

There are at least three high level resignations at Homeland Security in the works...

Lying to Congress is serious business...and now Feinstein is bringing the Dems on board.

"Good grief. the president did not prosecute these men."

In this matter his non-pardon is as good as an indictment as far as I'm concerned. Based on stories I've read, Mexican diplomatic operatives were involved in this early on, and those agents didn't have any hope for a fair process.

Perhaps not, however he hasn't exactly been a pillar of support for securing our borders either.

Personally I think he has helped to create a political climate in this country that made the prosecution of these Men acceptable.

Don't you that there are some people here who believe that a president has the same powers as an emperor does and is also able to know everything and be everywhere, like GOD?

The RIGHT has its own set of folks, just as the LEFT does, who really believe that when they have a hangnail, it's this president's fault. Go figure......

No Bush did not prosecute these as well as other agents. He did, however, put people in charge of Justice and Homeland Security.

Just as in Katrina, when any government agency blows it big time, the administration is at the top. Harry Truman, "The buck stops here." (and I'm as Republican as the come but I'm also a conservative and these things are neither - time to clean out he foxes from the hen houses.

Doesn't mean impeachment but Bush needs to step to the microphone immediately and declare, that anyone, anyone hindering border security/prosecuting Border Agents who are doing their jobs that they are hired for, especially those in Homeland Security who find it necessary to lie in order to stop Border Patrol agents from "patrolling our borders, will be charged with a felony and can expect long prison terms, if found guilty.)

I agree. I do think Bush should pardon the two but he has nothing to do with the problems they are in.

Thank you, pissant. Those two ex-agents had a trial in a court of law. They had benefit of defense counsel. The way some on talk radio, the right-wing fringe media, and opportunistic politicos like Hunter are flogging this story, one would think these guys were thrown in prison without benefit of either a trial or defense counsel.

Time and time and time and time again, these sorts of phony causes are pushed to the fore by people looking either to divide and damage Republicans, or to make a buck and/or a name off gullible people who are more passionate than they are discerning.

I heard about Hunter's empty impeachment threat tonight on the way home, and made a note to call his office tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind.

As a Californian, I am disgusted. First "real" conservative Duke Cunningham betrayed us. Now "real" conservative Duncan Hunter is trying to raise his presidential stock by betraying us. (Hunter and Cunningham were close buds in Congress. I wonder how much Hunter knew about what Cunningham was doing and if he ever covered for the crook.)

The fallout from this will destroy the republican hopes for the 2008 election. Bush is doing this deliberately; he knew what kind of man Gonzales was when he appointed him.

He may as well have. It's his open border policy and nonsensical amnesty program for illegals that is fueling the increasing trafic across the border.
