I live in Lenexa but work in Olathe. Someone said they heard that you're supposed to turn your heaters off? Heard anything said about that?
I think they meant in your cars. Trying to get people to not pull in fresh air from the outside but to just recirculate what's inside already. Not sure if that's what you heard or not.
If you live downwind (southwest of the fire) that might be a good idea, especially if you are somewhat close to downtown. Lenexa is what, 15 miles away from downtown? I would think that it shouldn't be much of a problem for ya'll (I've been downwind from some of these "Houston Campfires" before), though it might be a good idea not to go outside jogging today. Distance is a great diffuser, so smelling the smoke doesn't necessarily suggest danger to oneself. If you Google the term "Shelter in place", that will bring up more info on the topic.
Are you ok Auntbee?
