Feb. 7, 2007 - In Texas, they still admire George W. Bush, leastwise the Republicans do. But when I was in Dallas the other day, they had moved on from worrying about him to a new question: Could Rudy Giuliani get the GOP nomination? They were wary of Sen. John McCain, remembering past feuds, and of mavericks generally. They were fascinated by Rudy, however. They loved his can-do-ness, and thought that perhaps he was the only Republican who could save the party in 08.

I'm telling you, Rudy will split both parties. Fascinating.
pound away, he has my vote. Go Rudy.
The media is going to crucify any Republican who is seen as a frontrunner. I think it is hilarious that the McCain lovefest in the media stopped as soon as they realized that Bush is a lame duck. Now they are piling on Giuliani now that he is up in a few polls, funny ... and predictable!
No thanks.
The appeal isnt to kids, of course, but to board room and business Republicans, who are embarrassed and even outraged by the presidents bad management of Iraq and the post-Katrina recovery of the Gulf Coast. They want a manager; they think maybe Rudy is it.So Fineman is saying that Obama gets all the millions of young people and Rudy gets all the hundreds of board room managers.
Hmmm. I guess Obama can't lose.
(Unless Fineman is a FineMoron who doesn't know shat from shinola'd.)
(((((PING)))))
I a Rudy Guiliani vs Hillary Clinton fight the MSM will simply say, why take a pretend Hillary Clinton in the form of a RINO with the identical positions as any other liberal democrat when you could vote on the authentic radical liberal?
Guiliani still has not divested himself for his pro-gun control, pro-homosexual marriage (civil unions=homosexual marriage), and nanny state mentality. How is this former DOJ liberal lawyer any different from any other typical DOJ liberal lawyer? answer none.
Thank god for primaries.
Fineman is an idiot and this editorial shows how shallow his analyses have become.
Allow a comment of support from the conservative right.
At least Rudy has never performed an abortion.
Hope that helps.
"Rudy definitely has one thing that Obama-sama doesn't have, a record of real accomplishment. New York is a safe place to visit now. He also "made his bones" in the aftermath of 9/11".
...one thing Rudy can do that Obama can't. ANSWER QUESTIONS! DEBATE! GET HARD BALLED AND LIVE! As soon as Obama has to do any of these things, it's over for him. The sound bites will kill him. The press has their work cut out for them when trying to cover for that idiot.
The only thing that Fineman says that I can agree with.
"I mean, you got the first mainstream Italian who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean, that's a storybook, man." -- unofficial Joe Biden quote
...LMAO!!
Howard Fineman is an anti-Christian.
Although I am against his belief on abortion, I am satisfied with his answer on appointing judges. The damage Hillary or any other Democrat would do far out weighs my concerns over Rudy.
As much as we long for another Reagan, we may need to face the probability that we will only see someone like Reagan once in a life time. After all, we had to go through 24 Presidents to get from Lincoln to Reagan.
As of right now, Go Rudy!
I would vote for Rudy if he is nominated, but I am hoping for something better in the Primary's
To those of you pre-disposed to dismiss Rudy, I ask; which GOP candidate portrays better leadership qualities?
Which GOP candidate has a better chance of beating the Democrat?
Which GOP candidate has been better at supporting the party?
Which GOP candidate has accomplished more in office?
