In case no one else has stated the obvious yet, I'll do it:

If the Republicans lose to this creature they have no one, NO ONE, but themselves to blame.

And, as feckless, stupid, and craven as they (THE GOP) have been over the last six years, I wouldn't be surprised to see it.

She'll have to follow the bent one's advice and triangulate, posing as a centrist on important issues. (He is working behind the scenes, after all.) I'm betting she'll jump to the right of them on illegal immigration (it won't take much; some bogus fence-building and such, with plenty of hot air) and kick their asses.

I will go further and say that it will be no great loss. If the Republicans continue along the path of almost-but-not-quite-as-bad, there will be nothing there worth saving. They are taking up a spot that could be occupied by a real political party.

They're all too interested in protecting their own necks. They won't figure out that doesn't work until the last one is kicked out of Washington.

Exactly!

And Perot did not get Clinton elected. The '92 election was GHWBush's to lose. And he did. He ran a sorry campaign. He didn't even act like he wanted to be re-elected until a couple of weeks before the election. Bush ran a lackluster re-election compaign. He lost -- because he acted like he wanted to lose.

Not all of us. The WOT is one issue that unites the GOP.

Illegal immigration is dividing us. The Bush loyalists don't want to admit that he is stubborn as a mule, clinging to his CIF agenda.

Bush deserted his base. I won't be giving any money to the GOP for a long time, (since that's all they seem to care about these days)...unless Bush gives the Border Patrol men a pardon..PRONTO!
