#174....i am too scared to take it. i can remember the songs, some of them word for word...but not who sang it, or the title of the song or the year...
if i were lucky (which i'm not! lol) i would probably stand a better chance on the 70's! baby of the 60's, i think i know more 70's than 80's music. i would probably score 10%!! lol

Most of the music I bought in the 80's was on the ECM label.
(mostly jazz, but other kinds of music as well).

But you're not sure who Suzie Q was And you don't know what Samantha Fox was really famous for! You know, I actually remember Suzy Q, though I probably would not have unless I saw the name. I remember her on the Hollywood Squares of all things. (Kinda cute.)
As for Samatha Fox: GUYS, Remember the rules -- LINK those pictures, with warnings!!!!

I think we need to post our favorite groups.
I loved the Police, the Cars, Phil Collins/Genisis, the Motels, Cheap Trick, Huey Lewis and the News, and I hate to admit that I loved Loverboy and went to one of their concerts.

Sad thing hearing about Frankie.
The funny thing is that the only songs of his that I actually know the words to are the theme songs to "Blazing Saddles" and "Sherrif Lobo".

Some of the questions I only knew because I had a couple of reference points -- I only really started listening to the radio around the summer of 83 after I dating a college DJ (who now does morning drive in Nashville by the way). And I can peg some stuff to hearing it in college, with my girlfriend or in my first apartment after I was married. A lot of changes for me in the 80s!

Sure, there was Springsteen, Madonna, and way before Nirvana we had U2 and Blondie and music still on MTV. Okay, I didn't actually have cable yet, and I had to watch U68 on one of the UHF stations, where I hadn't to see a certain Tom Petty video repeatedly . . .
Oh, great, now I'm preoccupied with 1985!
