President Bush traveled to Manassas, Virginia today where he addressed a crowd at Micron Technology Virginia on Fiscal Responsibility.
The full text of his remarks can be read here.
Ninety six years ago today, our fortieth president was born, and later tonight, Former First Lady Nancy Reagan will present our nations forty-first president, George Herbert Walker Bush, with the 2007 Ronald Reagan Freedom Award at a gala dinner in Beverly Hills, CA at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
To honor President Ronald Reagan on the anniversary of his birthday, President George W. Bush has designated United States Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton to place a wreath on President Reagans gravesite on his behalf. Colonel James B. Seaton III, Commanding Officer at Camp Pendleton, will conduct the ceremony, which will commence at 11:00 a.m. with a music prelude beginning at 10:30 a.m. by the Camp Pendleton band and the United States Naval Academy Mens Glee Club. The ceremony includes a color guard, chaplain, a brass quintet, a 21-gun salute, the placing of an official wreath from the White House on President Reagans gravesite, and a fly-over by the March Air Reserve Base. The ceremonys guest speaker will be the Honorable Edwin Meese, former Attorney General under President Reagan, who will deliver personal remarks. We figured ours were at least 50 years old. We still have to figure a way to get up in them and trim off the broken limbs that are still hanging.

MUST SEE VIDEO . . .
Depending upon the report you read, the 'surge' has already begun or is about to begin . . . Either way, it's an appropriate time to watch one of the best Super Bowl ads ever:

I'm still PSYCHED from my special 'meeting' on Saturday . . . For those of you who missed my post from last evening:
TONY SNOW
Over 450 Republicans paid $80 per ticket to attend the Hamilton County (Cincinnati) Lincoln-Reagan Dinner Saturday night . . . TONY SNOW was quite the draw and he did not disappoint! He gave an incredibly uplifting, motivating and informative speech that earned a standing ovation and A LOT of buzz!!
Given the attendance (twice as many attendees as expected), I had reconciled myself to the notion that I wasnt going to get an opportunity even to shake Tonys hand much less speak to him when suddenly THE opportunity presented itself . . . I was walking back from the restroom when I noticed Tony standing about 20 feet from me with only ONE person chatting with him (for the moment) . . . I knew this would be my only chance and I took it . . .
After shaking his hand, I thanked Tony profusely for his service to the President and the country , explaining as I did so that I was reflecting not only my own view but the view of the SANE posters at FreeRepublic, in particular the snowflakes and the DOSERS (and yes, he knew exactly to whom I was referring) . In fact, he told me that he visits FreeRepublic EVERY DAY and always makes a point to read both THE DOSE and dinosaurs press conference threads!!! WOW!
I told Tony we prayed daily for both him and the President (and yes, he knows all about the Prayer thread). I also asked him to assure President Bush that his base still loves and supports him -- we understand that he (the President) is a man of great integrity, courage, and vision! . . . Tony indicated that he hears this every where he goes and that the President draws great strength from our support and PRAYERS, as does he!!
Again, WOW!
Bottom line: Tony Snow is an authentically NICE ( and HANDSOME) man he loves his life, his president and his job . . . His enthusiasm is absolutely contagious!!
We must never forget that Tony reads this thread regularly (as do others in the White House . . . Mr. President?) so the information we share here, the support we offer here, and the activism in which we engage here is extremely important . . . Collectively, our efforts serve to encourage the President and his team it doesnt get any better than that!!
onyx: would you please post the photo of Tony that accompanies the following article?!!

POLLING NONSENSE . . .
Just remember, current MSM polls are completely BOGUS . . . They are designed for one purpose, to denigrate the President and his policies -- as the editor of Newsweek recently reiterated, it's the media's job to attack the President [riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight . . . of course, this 'job' only applies to Republican presidents!]
RASMUSSEN
GWB's JA rating: 44% approve (the President's doing VERY well this month, particularly among Republicans)!
http://rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm
GALLUP
GWB's JA rating: 32% approve [Per usual, approximately 80% of Republicans approve of the president, which means one thing and one thing only: Gallup GROSSLY oversampled Democrats and Democrat-leaning Independents . . . so what else is new?!]
Bottom line: The fact that the only INDEPENDENT pollsters, Rasmussen and Battleground, routinely post JA ratings for the President 10-15 points higher than the MSM pollsters underscores for all who want to 'see' the latter's agenda/bias!
Fortunately, at this point in his presidency, polls mean nothing to President Bush . . . While having MSM pollsters manufacture 'good' ratings for him as they did for Clinton would make the President's 'political' life easier, such polls mean NOTHING in terms of the way this President continues to conduct himself as Commander in Chief -- and that's what counts NOW! [History will take GOOD care of President George W Bush!]
Wow!! Thank you for posting this you lucky girl!
Somehow I missed it last night.
Trimming is a problem. Katrina winds tore limbs on ours. One is still hanging.
