Just when the Southerners thought the silverware was safe from yankees, here come not one but two New Yorkers, both aiming for the White House. Hillary is already tracking snow into parlors in New Hampshire and Iowa, and now Rudy Giuliani has finally wound up his impersonation of Hamlet, filing a "statement of candidacy" with the Federal Election Commission that is tantamount to announcing that he, too, really and truly yearns to be president of the United States. Soon they'll head South, where presidential candidates, particularly Republicans, must do or die.

"Conservative Republicans, particularly in the South, know better. They have only to decide whether they're frightened most by the terrorist armed with a Koran and a dirty bomb, or by an abortionist and two little men atop the wedding cake. "

Yeah.
The Rudy-philes still think Pro-Lifers are stupid. nothing ever changes.
Boy, that kind of condescending insult just wins em over big time, let me tell ya.
Last but not least, the absurd pronouncement that Rudy Giuliani is the only living American with any interest in fighting the war on terror - everyone else will immediately surrender the USA to terrorist and start attending mosque every week.
Ah yes, yet another reason to fight for principles, and not liberals.

Ah, rudy: the fear candidacy. If you don't support rudy, you want the terrorists to win.

Not just that.
But if you have any interest in any issue besides the WoT - you must want the terrorist to win.
In fact, if Rudy doesn't win, all of our women will be wearing burkas within weeks! We're doomed, DOOOMED!!!!!
Oh my gosh....what if Rudy dies or a heart attack or something in the next year?!?! Then we might as well not even go on living because the WORLD is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love how they attack people who point out rudy is anti-gun and pro-abortion as "single issue voters". When their only issue is...the WOT.
Here's a clue: if the terrorists bring the WOT onto US soil, I don't want a rino like rudy taking away my evil guns that I can use to defend myself and my family from those jihadists you say are the most pressing problem in the world.
Unless they think the government will run to our rescue and save us - you know, the same mentality that worked so well in new orleans.

Looks like conservatives are wanting to consider a third-party candidate if Rudy gets the nomination. Wow, that's a tough choice...Hillary, Rudy or some obscure candidate who has problems with gay marriage.

LOL! Hypocrisy knows no bounds with you. This is about the 7th comment I've read from you today where you bash Rudy supporters.

The simple fact is: There is no real reason for a Conservative to come out for Rudy in the General Election, other than a fear of Hitlery.
In the primary, there is no excuse whatsoever for supporting Rudy, none. Nobody who votes for Rudy in the PRIMARY can claim to be a Conservative, IMHO, not one of them.
And I am ready to fight until I can no longer walk or talk to see to Rudy's defeat in either race, primary or general. The way Rudy-ophiles abhor a Hitlery presidency is the way I abhor either of their Presidencies.
There is no real difference, as far as I'm concerned. it's better to suffer through Hitlery for four years and work for a better candidate in 2012. Can you imagine how utterly destroyed the SoCon & Gun Conservative issues will be if Rudy wins? We'll never get anyone to the right of Rudy ever again - ever.

I'd vote for Hillary before Rudy. She is more conservative and at least she stuck it out with her hubby.

LOL!!!! ROTFL!!!!
The truth isn't an attack. Somehow, certain people - namely liberals, always think it is.
They adopt the mentality of "How dare you use facts and speak the truth about me! How dare you tell people what I do when I post! Why, that's an attack!"
They are always the most vicious and most personal, going back to the miers debacle, but when anyone dares defend themselves and point out what THEY do, why then it's a personal attack!
My defense is that it's true. I don't care whether the perpetually offended whine that saying something true about them is an attack. It's true, and it more than I can say about most of their posts.

I think that's what many of them want. I've seen them argue that the problem with the GOP is that it's basically too conservative - that it has to liberal up in order to beat - get this - the other liberals. Don't offer the contrast that wins elections. Nope, offer the item with two different labels and hope your personality candidate beats their personality candidate.

Rudy's pledge to nominate strict constructionists to the court is enough for this pro-lifer.

Rudy IS good on those issues, but not good on most others.
There are plenty of candidates as good or better than Rudy on WOT issues and a hell of a lot better on others too.
