Yeah, they can opt out until their school district refuses to let the child come to school until showing proof of vaccination. Or the school will just have the nurse administer the vaccination without the parents' knowledge or consent. Parental opt out provisions for mandatory items are typically onerous and temporary at best.
I wonder how many parents know they can opt out and how to do so. After all, even Governor Perry is calling it a mandatory vaccine.
If this is truly 'voluntary', then that's the language that should be used by Governor Perry and every other official.
Oh how simple....how easy.
The truth.....Once something like this is mandated, it becomes very difficult to 'opt out'...
..and swiftly you will find your doctors, especially pediatricians not accepting your baby or child as a patient if you don't comply with the mandate.
It has happened in our county, and we're in Florida.
And my daughter was told this in the hospital before she took her baby home.....as they were trying to strongarm her in allowing HepB for a baby born 2 months premature.
She said 'No!' and held out as long as she could.
Yes they can and they should, but how many will know this since it's something the state has kept quiet about. Few people understand they can opt out, but this is a bigger issue. The Pharms are too influencial and are ruining our pets and children's health with a plethera of vaccinations.
