There is an assumption by many that Giuliani is un-nominatable as a Republican for President given his less than conservative positions on many social issues. Charlie Cook summed up the conventional Washington wisdom on Giuliani's chances with his statement in the Washington Post several months ago that he'll "win the Tour de France before Rudy Giuliani wins the Republican nomination."

NO, thanks! IF I wanted to vote for a liberal, I'd vote for a RAT! At least we KNOW what to expect from them! NO more RINOS with liberal agendas for me!
That's the way it looks at the moment, but (see the last line in the article) we have a long way to go before the primaries really get going.
Last I checked, it was February 6, 2007 and there is an enormous amount of time before the GOP nomination is settled.
Here is a novel idea...
Let's nominate a Conservative instead!
That said, I'm worried about the possible damage that could be done and how far that would set us back.
I'm worried about what would come after Rudy.
No party has had control of the White House for more than 12 years since FDR-Truman. (This doesn't mean that I want 4 years of Democrats so we can have 8 or 12 more years of Republicans.)
Rudy's record actually has abortions going DOWN when he was mayor..his policies are based in logic, law, and conservative principles. His results proven record is unmatched with the current candidates...I mean, the Dems actually may elect a 4 year senator....insanity.
Rudy was for Roberts and Alito....
