Speaker Nancy Pelosi Gets Big Jet
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will have access to an Air Force jet larger than the one used by her predecessor so she can fly nonstop between Washington and her San Francisco district.
Following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the speaker – who is second in line for the presidency after the vice president – has been able to use a military aircraft for security reasons.
But the jet used by the previous speaker, Rep. Dennis Hastert of Illinois, was too small to fly to California without refueling.
As NewsMax reported earlier, Pelosi’s office has been pressing for routine access to military aircraft not only for herself and her staff, but for relatives and other members of the California delegation as well.
As of Monday, the Air Force had not informed Pelosi’s camp as to who can travel with her, the Contra Costa Times in California reported.
Pelosi’s aircraft requests have touched off grumbling about the speaker requesting more than her GOP predecessor.
Looks like Queen Pelosi is exerting her political muscle....what about global warming? Can't she drive a Yugo back to her district....or take a commercial flight??

If the jet couldn't make it to her district without refueling, fine. If however she's using it as an excuse to be a play toy for her friends and donors... that's a big problem... one the press will probably just ignore.
I'd give her any size jet she wants to fly back to her district ... so long as it was a one-way trip.
Her carbon footprint doesn't count.
With her demands she needs 28R! :-)

Must they provide the taxpayers with a list each time this plane is used and who was on it?
I hope the relatives staff members and other members of the California delegation are billed for the flights at commercial fare rates or the actual cost per mile and not traveling on the taxpayer's dime. If Hastert had tried to take his relative and friends along for the flight, Peosi and company would have had a cow.
