"He believes in the 2nd amendment."
Reread the transcript. He does NOT "believe" in the 2nd Amendment. He believes it is okay to confiscate at will and to sue the manufacturers, distributors and dealers out of existence. His record is clear, he is a gun-grabber.

What Rudy doesn't seem to realize is that New York City's crime rate could be lower still if law-abiding people (other than celebrities and the über-rich) could defend themselves against criminal attackers without fear of malicious prosecution - if the criminals were deeply afraid of their intended victims, rather than the other way around. Statistics would tend to bear that out. But even if that weren't the case, rising criminal activity doesn't trump my right to defend myself from criminals.

Look at his record in regards the 2nd Amendment and remember a POLITICIAN, of which Rudy is one, will say anything to get elected.

I saw that live.
I'm convinced if politicians would just do the right thing rather than the PC thing the American public would accept it.
Why they're afraid to try, I have no clue.

Indeed. I sometime get to watch the BBC transmission of the British Parliament questioning of the Prime Minister. Blair knocks down the pins with gusto ... and if one imagines rodhamster in the docket trying to be quick on her feet, the image of stumbling and tripping and falling on her smarmy face always comes to mind. Rudy would do well in such a pressure setting, but I think Romney would also. The key is an emptiness at the center of the hillary image, whereas Giuliani and Romney are what you see and have substance the rodhamster lacks. Sadly, most American voters will never see the emptiness in hillary because the pernicious media will continue to cover for this empty pantsuit.

It looks like his whole campaign committee and staff are posting after reading some of these gushing comments. This man does not believe in the Constitution.

Why they're afraid to try, I have no clue. It all boils down to money. Nothing but money - Money for their campaigns, for special interests, etc.

Don't get me wrong, if he wins the nomination I'll hold my nose and vote for him, and once again fight for the right to self-defense like we did years ago. But he hasn't won the nomination yet.

"WTF is a technological fence?"
You count the number crossing and say we have a handle on the problem. You just don't do anything.

These people on FR who cast their votes solely on a candidates stand on gun control are one tiny step away from being liberals.

It's freakin, freezin cold here in NY. I'm in Upstate by the Lake so we have lotsa snow.
By the way, a compotent of diesel fuel which THE DUMB CONGRESS made manditory has gummed up half the school buses because of the temperature. And my friend, a NY trucker, is stuck in Pennsylvania.
Tell Mr. Gore that our weatherman said that this is the coldest stretch on record!! Beware, the iceman cometh!!

To me, a technological fence is more like an automated stun gun that goes off when someone crosses the border...then an automated crane gently picks up the now passed-out offender and puts him back in Mexico.

It is about his stand on the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES!
A candidates' position and history on one constitutional issue is a reliable indicator of what he will do on other issues. He has repeatedly wiped his butt with the Constitution of the United States. He will not receive the votes of many due to this. Find another candidate or a Democrat will win the White House in '08.

We love him for the same reason we hate the chocolate mayor. No one would even know about Nagin if it wasn't for Katrina. Rudy would not be lionized if it wasn't for 9-11 and he did get massive Fed. aid. and assistance from outside NYC.

These people on FR who cast their votes solely on a candidates stand on gun control are one tiny step away from being liberals. We all have our hot-button issues, Ryan, that's just a fact of life. It doesn't make us liberals.
But a politician's stance on gun control is a bellwether for how he understands the relationship between the government and its citizens, and how much respect he accords to individual rights.
The right to defend your own life is the most basic of individual rights, because if you're dead what meaning do any other rights have?
And if a politician doesn't understand that, how well can he possibly understand the meaning of the Tenth Amendment or any number of other issues that touch on individual rights that will come before the presidency?
The Second Amendment is not about "sporting purposes," it's not about "demonstrating need," it's about the fundamental human right of self-defense, and about how the Federal government is supposed to be the servant of the people, in defense of their inherent individual rights.
Failure to understand this is why most Democrats think that if something seems like a good idea from healthcare to speed limits, they can just pass a law, regardless of what the Constitution says.
