John Edwards has found a solution by shifting blame yet again, and in the process exposing the "Bush lied" meme as a hypocritical dodge. In his Sunday appearance on Meet the Press, Edwards attempted to excuse his vote on the AUMF by blaming Clinton administration officials for confirming the intel coming from the Bush administration (via McQ at QandO, emphases mine):
SEN. EDWARDS: For the same reason a lot of people were wrong. You know, wethe intelligence information that we got was wrong. I mean, tragically wrong. On top of that Idbeyond that, I went back to former Clinton administration officials who gave me sort of independent information about what they believed about what was happening with Saddams weaponweapons programs. They were also wrong. And, based on that, I made the wrong judgment. ...

Better watch your back, Johnny boy.
Did he mention if he thought he was clean?
Dems should be forced to shower 3 times a day... de-loused once a week...
Or articulate?
Well, yes, for an ambulance chaser.
It's a back hand slap at Hillary, I love it!
However, this opens up a completely new problem for Edwards and the rest of the Democrats. They have claimed for at least the last two years that Bush Lied (TM), that the entire basis of the war was based on his deceptions about the intelligence. Their campaigns have created an impetus for impeachment in some Democratic circles based on this supposed set of lies. Now John Edwards, years later, claims that Clinton administration officials gave him essentially the same analysis about WMD in Iraq -- exposing the Democrats as liars and smear artists themselves. In other words, BreckGirl, which is it:
1. Bush lied and you were an idiot for believing him.
2. Bush said the same thing Clinton was saying and all the Democreeps who've been saying "Bush lied" all these years are a bunch of lying morons. Including you.
Pick one, BreckGirl. You can't have it both ways. You're either a blithering idiot or a lying moron. (Not mutually exclusive, by the way.)
I was thinking Edwards would have pulled a Biden and said that Hussein Obama was the first clean, articulate black guy to run for the presidency.
Pass the popcorn
Arkancide?
The Bolshecrats are so weak minded they can be lead astray by any intelligence agency? As is usual for the Bolshies, they don't offer a solution for how they were going to make sure everyone gets the same intelligence. Though, the two porta-potties in 04 said that they would not go to agencies to get the facts, since, that would influence intelligence.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to this week's WRWF (World RAT Wrestling Federation) cage match! This week's lineup includes The Breck Girl, The Heinous Harridan, Obama-Osama the Fighting Moor, One-Half of a Waitress Sandwich, Dennis the Menace Kucinich, Plagiarizing Plugs Biden, and other lesser-known grapplers. Who will survive the cage?"
ROTFLOL!! That's what I was thinking too!
"Edwards, being defensive for Obama, said that Obama was not in Washington, but was in state government at the time, and that Obama did not have access to the "detailed" intelligence reports that Congress received."
True, but he read the same papers and heard the same news broadcasts as the rest of us .....

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."

on clinton
See, this is smart. As a challenger down in the pack he must campaign against the leader.
You're a Democrat, Mr. Edwards. You and your blue-state colleagues have spent the last 2 years tapdancing around your Iraq votes like you were the roadcast for Riverdance. But now that it suits you you say it wasn't Mr. Bush who deceived you but Bill and Hillary. And you have the gall to imply that you have the honesty and openess necessary to be President.
Go back to your hair stylist, John, 'cause you ain't got what it takes to sit in the Oval Office...
