Newsom seeks counseling for alcohol abuse, sources say

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom told department heads this afternoon he is seeking counseling for alcohol abuse, sources familiar with the meeting told The Chronicle.
Newsom told members of his administration that the help he is seeking would not require him to step aside even temporarily as it might if he entered a residential rehabilitation program, according to the sources.

His girlfriend Jennifer Siebel gave a television interview today in which she said she had known about Newsom's affair with Tourk's wife.
Doesn't seem like a smart move on her part to be making any public comments about that.

Now if he were in Texas and got caught he could be dead. Betraying your best friend and then running off to rehab is absolutely disgusting.
If you can't stand by your best friend with honesty and integrity how does anyone think he will be honorable or honest enough to be Mayor? I forgot, those traits aren't necessary in Frisco. This moron has no brains or he would be too humiliated to hold his head up in public. Anyone who treats his best friend like this is total slime and should not be trusted with anything.
