The ironic thing is, if the US were to launch punative strikes against Iranian targets in resposne to their helping the insurgents in Iraq, those Tehranian students you so lionize will be shouting the loudest for American blood.

There are too many things that are happening that they should be telling us to defend their positions, and then they pull the rug out or ask, What Rug? (THINK WMD's)
If they had any nerve, they would be attackng the Basiji now and taking their rifles one by one

It explains a lot but there are two aspects to it. One is keeping means and methods secret, even if they did fail, for security. The other is keeping means and methods secret because they failed for CYA. Unfortunately security will always be invoked even when it's really only CYA.
