LOL keep hope alive.
Let's go Red Sox.
Football is over.
And why not? Jerry Jones hasn't interviewed anyone of true consequence; Smith describes the Cowboys vacancy as his dream job.
Dungy, meanwhile, has finally gotten to a Super Bowl, after enduring more than most people should, like the suicide of his son. He'll pull a semi-Cowher and retire.
I was the first one, leading to the postseason, to say that if the Colts played a team with a good running game, they were going to get their heads handed to them. Boy was I wrong. Not only did their defense improve dramatically, but they proved that they could get smashed in the mouth (by NE) and come back and win. Same tonight. The Colts are down 7 before Peyton takes a snap...and they win in dramatic fashion.
That shows some character. That makes it worthwhile. And congrats to Coach Dungy for having the second team he coached win a Super Bowl (though the recordbook will show that Chucky was the official Tampa Bay coach).
For all the hype, the Bears defense looked pretty average today.
"I was in the shower. Who won?"
Were you in there a long time? If so, the St. Louis Cardinals won.
Eckstein is MVP
Loved the ad at the end by the NFL about saying goodbye, and for some its harder. (Shot of Brett Favre holding onto the ball.)
Priceless!
Colts defense amazed me as well in the playoffs!
"Validation for Peyton Manning. Now get off his back."
As a fan of PM in college, I second that. I could never figure out what it was about him that made the media want to tear him down.
Chicago couldn't stop their short gains. Indy stopped Rex Grossman's long passes with two interceptions.
The spectacular interception and run back for the touchdown was THE play.
Wooohoooooo! It's been a loonnnnggggg time coming!!! (I go all the way back to Johnny Unitas as a Colts fan....)
Horrible play calling, botched snaps...Radio 670 in Chi is beating Rexy to a bloody pulp. Doug Buffone is so PO'd he's spitting nails...Gave up 430 yards of offense.
Visions of Ohio State vs. Florida: Touchdown runback on first play. I'd be curious to know the statistic of how many times a team won with a touchdown on first play of game. Chicago is a great team. Was hoping they'd make for a closer game. Oh well. My prediction of a 24-21 Chicago win is happily forfeited for a Colts win.
bttt!! LOL
Including tonight's loss...the Bears had a losing record against AFC teams.
Yes! Only 26 hours (PDT) till Jack Bauer saves the world!
That was the best ad of the night.....NFL sponsored.
Next is March Madness and a Gator Repeat. Then the Mavs will win the NBA title they should have won last year.
And the Tigers will get back to the WS.
Detroit Lions.....maybe they can get the first pick in next year's draft.
