There has been an IED used in Iraq since the fall of Saddam that was a binary sarin 155 mm artillery shell.  It was something Saddam had never admitted they had.  As you say, because it wasn't spinning it didn't mix effectively so had very little effect.

There's a lot more to Iraqi WMD than has been discussed by the dinosaur media.  The Libyan nuclear program was staffed almost exclusively by Iraqi scientists.  Was it really Saddam's program being run outside of the view of any inspectors?  There were a half dozen dual use chemical factories discovered in the opening thrust of our forces into Iraq in the run to Baghdad (reported by the NY Times Judity Miller) that could produce in one day of production enough chemical weapons to wipe out the planet several times over.  And contrary to the terms of the truce following the first Gulf War they weren't declared and weren't being inspected by the UN.  And they were camoflagued and guarded by the Iraqi military.  That right there is enough to have legally attacked Iraq, whether they ever produced anything in them or not.

And the chief of the Iraqi air force wrote a book detailing how he arranged to move WMD from Iraq through Syria to the Bekaa valley as "humanitarian assistance" after a big earthquake.

If the full story of all of this comes out the old media and their Stalinist Allies in the Dhimmicrat party and old Europe will be forever branded as the traitors they are.  That's part of why they are so desperate to sieze control of all of the forms of communication with their ever increasing draconian laws regarding political speech.  The "fairness doctrine" is their next attempt to muzzle any voice of opposition.  CFR was their most successful foray in this regard.  I can never forgive John McLame for pushing that through and I fault Bush for signing it in the belief that the Supreme Court would strike it down.  To me that is Bush's biggest mistake, not anything he has done in Iraq.

I will only answer part of this post, because it is going down the tubes. The guy that played Joe Mannix (Mike Connors) was a handsome man, and he had a lot of hair piled high. Duncan Hunter has always reminded me of Joe Mannix from the first time I saw him over 16 years ago when I started following Congress more closely. It is just that simple. I guess you never saw anyone that reminded you of an old time Movie or TV Star. That is a shame, try to have some fun tonight, think of all those Super Bowl attendees slopping around in $1000 seats in the nosebleed section of Dolphin Stadium. LOL!

I often wondered if Moynihan was an Alcoholic because he was a Democrat, or if he was Democrat because he was an alcoholic.

You actually touched on part of the real reason I think DPM was a Dhimmcrat.  He was an Irish Catholic New Yorker who grew up in the middle of the last century.  It was just automatic that he was one of them.

I voted for him in my last election as a New Yorker in 1976 when he went to the Senate.  There were a lot of times I was disappointed in his positions, but I never doubted his honesty on anything he did.  Oh, I know he did things for purely partisan reasons and... "shaded" the truth in some of those things.  But to me there was always a wink and a nudge included where he acknowledged what he was doing and that it was only politics.  I never knew him to do anything like that over something that really mattered in the "real world."  Certainly never in foreign policy.  I might have disagreed with him over issues, but I always felt he was being sincere.

I actually have that same feeling about Harold Ford Jr.  The real problem for him is the rest of his family.  Taking the leadership position in the DLC may be a great place for him for the next couple of years to establish himself as an indepent voice.  Do you notice that he hasn't been chiming in on the current anti-surge mania in his party?  He's not coming out and criticizing the moonbats yet, but he's not endorsing them, either.  If things start to go well in Baghdad watch for him to stake out a position to the right of his party in a real hurry.

As to getting slammed on the other post... been there, done that. <g>

And the Vikings named it Greenland because they:
1) Were colorblind
2) Loved dirty tricks and figured the Goths would
land there and freeze their butts off
3) Refused to believe that their use of SUV's and love of
barbeque would change it to a barren frozen tundra.
4) All of the above.

Donna Brazille spoke warmly of President Bush after Katrina and did not blame him for the inept response of the governor and the mayor; she cited the real reasons for the dreadful aftermath, and included the unfortunate reliance by much of the population on the government running their lives.

She is a very decent, praying Christian without being sanctimonious, just firm in her faith.

I thought it disgraceful that the Dems dumped her so publicly and disrespectfully from Gore's 2000 campaign. I guess they assumed that blacks would vote for the Dem without her input.

It would be interesting to see the numbers from Tenn. and Ark. both of which dumped the Dem ticket in 2000. D.B. did not agree with the Dem decision not to campaign hard in those two States.

I think you have made a lot of excellent points about Moynihan, Irish Catholics and the Rat Party. I will never forget the last few times I watched him on with Timmah, he was clearly drunk, and that Photo op with Hillary where she manipulated her way to his Home for that Shot he looked like he wanted to kick her in the butt and send her packing. Either that or vomit on her shoes. Moynihan's wife spilled the beans about that little operation, and it was not kind. Moynihan will always be remembered for his great intellect and Irish humor and Charm. He was also right on about Children in inner cities growing up without two parents and how it effects Poverty Levels. He spent decades trying to break the cycle of out of Wedlock birth in all races and very few Rats joined him. He is one Democrat I miss.

Yesterday he again suggested to to republicans "distance" from & defy the WH during Study commitee meeting.

Can you provide more info on this, please?  What did he say to whom?  Newt is one of those people I would love to support as I like almost everything he says (almost).  But then he does or says something that just pisses me off completely.

On your other point

Newt can run for congress & may become speaker or majority leader. He always side with the power of congress & he advised Hastert that FBI search of Jafferson was wrong - that 's when started the downslide of house republicans.

I have to ponder on this one, but I think the William Jefferson office search was one of the last nails in their coffin, not the first.  Though I may very well be conflating House and Senate unfairly.  The House Republicans were the bright spot for me, by and large, until this particular debacle.  I'll think about that for a time.

I agree 100% with your 588 and 590.  In my own mind I included Bill Richardson in the list of declared candidates who I think won't survive real scrutiny.  I remember all too clearly that he's the "genius" who negotiated the nuclear deal with Lil Kim and was the responsible official who should have been held accountable for little things like the transfer of the plans for our W88 nuclear warhead to the People Liberation Army.  I just can't believe that he will be able to skate past that in the long run.

I do not lump you in with the 100%ers when I talk about them. You are a principled and articulate conservative who has thoughtful and informative positions that I find interesting and informative. I don't recall you beating the drum for "punishing" the Republicans by not voting or voting for a Dhimmicrat this last election, despite the disappointment all of us felt with the RINOs we were faced with. (hoping Chafee lost doesn't count, he was an embarrassment)

But I've been wrong before. Just look at my tag line...

I have never heard about that. I'm not surprised the MSM hasn't detailed it. Do you have a source for the story? Not that I'm skeptical, I'd just like to read more about it.

The more I see of him, the more I can not for the life of me understand how the people of Virginia elected this person to represent them for six long years! I know that George Allen ran a terrible campaign, but Webb is such a jerk that I think some major fraud must have been involved for him to have pulled it out at the end. Also, he appears to have an unusually severe case of BDS which seems weird for a former Republican. It's more like a personal animosity toward the POTUS that is very evident when he refers to him. For now, he is managing to keep his feelings under control. but I don't think he will be able to make it through his entire term without having a major melt-down.

I agree with you on Richardson but it depends on who attacks him. If Republicans so it, all he has to do is shift the blame/problem to Bill Clinton and the media would probably go along with that. (Hey, if Hillary can get a pass on all she's done, forgiving Richardson is a walk in the park.) But, if Hillary decides to take Richardson down, he's history in my opinion.
