McConnell actually is playing the good cop bad cop game, here. Atleast he got all 49 republicans to agree to filibuster Warner resolution unless they agree vote on other 2 resolutions, which could be disasterous to the 2008 dems.

I would still like to find a solid conservative who can bend to the middle occasionally when it's needed over a so-called moderate who claims he can bend to the right as the current crop of GOP candidates are all doing That's the problem .. if there is any kind of bend .. the far right goes nuts
Then the so-called moderates jump in thinking they can save the day and it freaks out the rest of the party
Just once I'd like to see some common sense .. but that is not so common these days

Yep, that little mill house Edwards wore out... he was there from birth to one year old. His father got a better position and they moved to a bigger house. There was a great Byron York story on that way back; If I find it, will send.

The only Senator that I think even came CLOSE to understanding what the resolution would do to the troops was John Thune...but even he wasn't as committed to stopping any resolution as Hugh or I would like.
McConnell gave a politically correct answer...our troops deserve better than that.

The bet on McCain is about electability and being able to beat the Dems Sounds a lot like what DU was saying about Kerry in 2004!

I think that even with the liberals they see that the main characters that are journalists that has testified have looked sloppy, careless, biased and lousy journalists. People like Howie are just ticked off because they look so bad it reflects on their entire DBM biased anti-American buffoonery. He is also mad because the Panel on The Wall street Journal show especially made points about the Prosecutor looking almost as bad as Nifong in his unconscionable persecution of the Duke University Students. I think that the White House did not come off looking that bad, except that they trusted some of the really untrustworthy scums in the DBM like Matt Cooper (who has been pushed out a Time of course), and Russert. We have really never seen Timmah under oath up close and Personal, and I hope that is coming very soon. Even Mara was ragging on Fitzfong, or is that Nigerald. Their fitzmas is not working out for them. Wait til that loser Ronnie Earle becomes Ronnie Patrick Earlfong in a bit as he goes after Tom Delay.

To his credit, Haley has said he wants to finish the rebuilding and recovery from Katrina.....presumedly without whining to Washington.

Edwards has adapted to the Courtroom so many times that I doubt there is a real Edwards anymore. Certainly, his wife doesn't sound a bit like him.
He's an affected fop!

How sad. I hope my daughter stays as conservative as she is now. She doesn't take any trash from anybody I told my daughters if they ever went to the dark side .. I'd write them out of my Will *L*

Do you think it would work? Sadly, Mo1 is probably correct in saying too many on the right knee jerk over any compromise.

Thanks, as usual, Anita, for posting the weekly media nuggets. This week's nuggets are especially revealing for what dreadful idiots and dupes the 'rats and the DBM/MSM/LSM/ Dinosaur media really is.
And your "Just be Truthful" link says it all.

Last I read that even Warner was no longer planning on voting for his own bill.
Talk about alternate universes......there must be a dozen or more in D.C.

In McCain's case, we may want to pay particular attention to who he picks for a VP candidate.
McCain is old..and he doesn't look all that well sometimes.
