Rudy marrying his second cousin is just the beginning. His father was in prison, his cousin, Lewis D'Avanzo was known as "Steve the Blond" and listed as armed and dangerous in FBI bulletins. Rudy's other cousin was mysteriously murdered in his own home.
If Rudy, gets the nomination and it is down to Hillary and Rudy, what will happen when this information comes out at the 7th hour before election night?
McCain will never get the nomination. That isn't even an issue.

In this constitutional republic of ours we elect representatives democratically to make laws. Laws by their very nature are based on somebodys moral presuppositions and social conservatives want our presuppositions advanced by the lawmakers within the constraints of the Constitution of the United States.
I have no doubt that Rudy Giuliani will not be advancing my presuppositions and in fact it is quite correct to infer from his past statements that he will advance laws that limit second amendment rights and do nothing to limit the murder of babies.
Now, there are many I'm sure who can accept this in a tradeoff for the security Rudy may bring to their lives but it is quite proper for any politcal party to promote what they see as the "public good".
Are low taxes a "public good"? How about the "common defense"? Domestic tranquility? Justice? The "Blessings of Liberty" to our posterity?
These were all public goods in the eyes of "the People" who ratified the US Constitution. Damn busy bodies.
Question: How does Rudy promote and protect partial birth abortion if he nominates Scalia-like justices to the Supreme Court?
If in one hand, git in the other.
We can not know what Rudy will do, we can know what Rudy has done and by his own words the "Catholic" Mayor of New York promoted the murder of late term babies by speaking publically on the matter in favor of said murder.

In theory, I could levitate. In practice, I cannot. Your wished-for candidate would need the infrastructure[=$$$$$], name recognition, and charisma in uncommon measures. One has to do with what one has, and that includes the candidates one has. BTW, internecine bloodletting on our part would only make hillary's job easier.
I take it you're choosing to ignore the man's entire public career, in favor of some mealy-mouthed promises made now that he wants to be president. You're staking the future of our free republic on one of the most improbable "ifs" imaginable. There's no helping you, then.
What part of the above do you fail to understand?
IMO, long ago the Republican Party started compromising....
Big tent....that's HOOOEY now....it's just a big tent of compromised RINO'S.
As many have said on this thread, this beloved forum, Free Republic has posters who regularly disdain & belittle those of us who still hold to life and family.....basic tenets of a conservative platform/foundation such as FR.
We are endlessly being accused of surrendering or potentially surrendering the Republic to Hillary & ilk because we won't ......compromise.
Mr.Robinson, you have sacrified time, effort, finances & family to give us a forum to express our views and respond to world views .

But I fear this forum, too, has been compromised, from within.
It's easier to ignore new posters who arrive with an agenda.....it's really so obvious.
It's harder to deal with those here who have had the advantage of seeing this forum grow and were part of the process through the years...
...yet many posts of these same people....lately.... contradict/disagree with the basic tenets of Free Republic.
And this is my great concern....
I believe all good organizations...of conscienteous, conservative, idealistic folks... run the risk of being compromised within by those who creep in & have a different agenda and just bide their time ...
..waiting patiently.....
..to undermine the good structure.
They start nibbling at the foundation.....little bites at a time.
We cannot let down our guard!

I read an excerpt from that transcript where he spoke in SC, but again, I'm back to weighing his words against his actions. How does he reconcile his previous actions AGAINST the appeals court and the Supreme Court back in 1997?

easy example - Arlen Specter. vehemently pro-choice, no friend of the Bush administration, he did a great job as the judiciary chairman getting Roberts and Alito on the Court. how do you explain that?
