Imminentize the Eschaton
The Pointy-Haired Boss would like to appropriate the expression. Must be the current corporatese among the pointy-haired set with religious phase shift.

I love it when people in large groups of 3 or 4 look around and declare singularity.
The teeming masses of Africa, Asia and South America will ALL be connected to the Internet in 5 years?
This sounds like an anglicized version of the Mussie's vision.

I can get this same effect by eating a bag of Cheeto's and waiting a half hour.

It just so happens that, according to the ancient Mayan calendar, the world will end on my birthday in 2012. I'm telling everybody to send my presents early and to charge it on their credit cards.....

I saw the Omega Man. He died at the end of the movie. Count me out! Pretty funny post. I'd probably understand it a lot better if I could smoke some pot first though, like the authors obviously did.

Occasionally I catch family Radio's biblical scholar Harold Camping on cable TV. He has calculated that the end of the world will be in 2011.
Now, I'm worried.

Once I start reading this deconstructionist english/psuedo-intellectual crap it all becomes a blur and unreadable.
This is why so many leftists agree with this "thinking" it must be great since they don't understand it and there's so many fancy words.
The emperor has no clothes in any of these deconstructionst ramblings.

As unbelievable as this Omega Point might seem, our recent explosion toward a technological singularity is a glimmer of this monumental event. The technological singularity appears to be evidence of the flowering of the Omega Point within the long trek of human evolution and is a consequence of thousands of years of striving for the unspeakable. Are they talking about Microsoft's future operating system?
