"I am sure they wouldn't possibly consider the same in the case of virulent, untreatable HIV infections."
TB is easily spread, quarantines make sense because there are no reasonable precautions when it is present in your area. To the contrary. it is easy to reduce your chance of catching HIV to practically zero with minimal effort.
Unless you planning on putting yourself in a position to catch this new strain of HIV from these guys then you should have nothing to worry about.

"Wood said all of the infected men are gay and have had multiple partners, most anonymous."
These infected people clearly aren't acting responsibly, and basically killing others. As I said, one would think the gay community would be upset, instead of support the killing of their own.

I don't think TB is easily spread....you would have to be in a room with a coughing, hacking TB person and actually spend quite a bit of time in that room for you to become infected.....
HIV however, can be spread by one drop of blood to an open cut.....IMO of course, and I could be wrong...

Please read post #23.
HIV and antibiotic resistant TB often travel together.
TB infects those in the promiscuous group, and it also infects the rest of us.
Extreme multi-antibiotic resistant TB is highly fatal. ( Please do Google: South Africa extreme MRA TB.)

TB is not easily spread. It usually requires close long term contact to spread.
