ABC News' Kate Snow and Teddy Davis report: In his speech to the D.N.C.'s Winter Meeting, Democratic candidate for president Tom Vilsack, D-IA, called on Congress to use the power of the purse for bringing an end to the war in Iraq.
"Congress has the constitutional responsibility and a moral duty to cut off funding for the status quo. Not a cap -- an end. Not eventually -- immediately," said Vilsack, the former governor of Iowa.

I think he stepped right in it ...
Dems' heads are filled with moral doody.
Nuts
"Congress has the constitutional responsibility and a moral duty to cut off funding for the status quo. Not a cap -- an end. Not eventually -- immediately," said Vilsack, the former governor of Iowa.
Hey Tommy! HERE'S YOUR PARTY COLORS!
Congress does not have a moral duty. It might have an ethical responsibility for any damage it might do by such precipitous action, but it actually has no responsibility at all.
In his speech at the winter meeting he said: "I know how to change red to blue. I've done it, and I'm the only candidate who can say that. It all comes back to the courage to create change... We turned Iowa from red to blue because we had courage -- the courage to create change."
I think the dems are panicking that we might win.
In the race to out crazy each other, I think he has his left flank secured.
What about his moral responsibility to protect American troops, who are, after all, employees of the U.S. government, and would be dramatically and negatively affected by an immediate termination of funding for the war in Iraq?
Rush was right - the 'rats have positioned themselves so that anything other than a loss in Iraq will be a political hit for them. It is now imperative for them that we lose in Iraq.
Do you know any dem that lives up to his or hers responsibilty, moral or otherwise?
Cut off all f'n federal aid to this asswhole's district. Now.
Fixed headline.
The `Rats sold out South Vietnam and southeast Asia and
got away with it.
So why not do it again and be rewarded by the electorate.
You know what's funny? Vilsack isn't even polling well in IOWA!!!
Yeah, it would be nice to at least bring them home.
Imam leads Democrats in prayer of conversion
An excerpt from the FR thread.
"With heads bowed reverently, Democrats were led in prayer yesterday by a Muslim imam who essentially asked Allah to assist in converting the party members to Islam, according to a scholar and author."
