Hanging in the Yard (photo of Saddam with noose around neck in Gitmo is "torture" & is removed)

The US military subjected Australian detainee David Hicks to mental torture by providing him with graphic material showing Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein with a noose around his neck, his lawyers have claimed from Guantanamo Bay. . . .

[Hicks lawyer Josh] Dratel said the display was an attempt to torture mentally an already abused detainee population and breached standards for humane treatment required by the Geneva Convention.

A news report about Saddam Hussein's execution was removed from a recreation area at the Guantanamo Bay detention center after a detainee's lawyer accused officials of using it to frighten prisoners, a U.S. military spokesman said Thursday.

Authorities also removed an Arabic-language poster that depicted Saddam's capture, court appearances and death sentence, said Navy Cmdr. Robert Durand, a Guantanamo Bay spokesman.

The military decided the poster "appeared insensitive" and did not belong in the recreation area, where authorities post information about current events for detainees. . . .

THIS is what happens when we are so concerned about the terrorists -- anything they don't like, they yell "torture" and we meekly oblige.

So...the terrorists know that Saddam was one of their own.

Why don't the pinheads on the left get it?

We've got to stop accomodating these killers. This is ridiculous. If it bothers them somuch, we should put up more of these pictures. Make it so they can't get away from it.

May Jack Bauer stick an ice pick in Hicks' knee and extract the information he is withholding. It's pathetic that only one a TV show can what is necessary be done to save innocent lives and combat terrorism.

Here is McCain's "terrorist protection bill" which passed with overwhelming majority in both the Senate and House on Oct. 5, 2005, for shame.

Note the "degrading treatment" inclusion -- anything could be considered "degrading treatment" evidenced by this latest event of removing the poster to avoid offending the terrorist prisoners. AND note that they gave terrorist prisoners protection of the US Constitution -- how insane is that?!

Past time to denounce and withdraw from the Geneva Convention treaty, change the rules of engagement.

Fight street fighters on their own basis, no holds bared.

Quit going to a gun fight with a knife.

The purpose of going to war is to destroy property and kill people.

Global Jihad: Drop The Gloves

Denying this unpleasant truth so we can feel nice and tolerant is politically correct suicide.

We need an honest assessment of our enemy. Wishful thinking is not going to win this war.

Jihadists have declared war on America and the West, yet we are reluctant to even identify them with the religion in whose name they kill us. It's time to take off the gloves.

We must declare war on jihad — and all its participants and supporters — before they can make even deeper inroads.

Why should this bother the detainees? After all, Sadaam didn't have anything to do with 9-11 or terorism. /sarcasm

More insanity, I just came across -- now you can't even criticize the law firms who are aiding and abetting the terrorists:

Pentagon official resigns over detainee remark

http://today.reuters.com/News/CrisesArticle.aspx?storyId=N02227439

The Pentagon official who criticized law firms for defending detainees held at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has resigned due to the backlash over his remarks, a Defense Department spokesman said on Friday.

Charles "Cully" Stimson, deputy assistant secretary for detainee affairs, last month called it "shocking" that major U.S. law firms represented Guantanamo detainees for free and said they would likely suffer financially after their corporate clients learned of the work.

"He made the decision based on the current controversy," Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman told reporters. "He believed it hampered his ability to be effective in this position."

Stimson, himself a lawyer, submitted his resignation on Thursday and his last day in the position would be Friday, Whitman said, stressing Defense Secretary Robert Gates did not ask him to resign.

Were it up to me, Durand -- I'd have six foot by four foot pictures of every one of the dead terrorists plastered all around, with the goriest ones in prime locations, and let them know that's what we want to do to them all!

Pantywaist moron!
