President Hillary Clinton started making policy today. At the DNC winter meetings in Washington she began to reveal some of the Clinton Part Deux agenda, which will kick into gear after her inauguration.
Yesterday Exxon declared the biggest profit in the entire history of capitalism — $39 billion — and that did not escape Hillary's notice. Today she promised to tax Exxon on those huge profits, and tax those greedy capitalist pigs big time. Here's her quote:
"I want to take those profits and put them into an alternative energy fund that will begin to fund alternative smart energy alternatives that will actually begin to move us toward the direction of independence."
She referred to those profits as the highest in the history of the world, and she said: "I want to take those profits..." Not I want to take part of those profits. "I want to take those profits," she said.
Well hang on to your hats, oil company shareholders, because Hillary is after your profits.

Between the lines it says she will tax the rich ( you can bet she will not be one that pays)when the rich already pay the lion's share of taxes - if you make over 30K a year, and pay Federal Income Taxes, count yourself among the rich!
Wake up feminist and other Hillary people, this woman is a Communist; she derides success and hard work - that isn't her money she wants to take........(educate yourselves).
Wouldn't it be great if the CEO of Exxon just came out and said "If Hillary gets elected since we won't be able to keep any profits we plan on closing all operations. If you work for us or our suppliers you'll be out of job Jan 2009".

Hillary Clinton is a rabid socialist/marxist, along the same lines as Hugo Chavez. She wants to take profits from a company, (just because she thinks they made too much money)and will do it for the COMMON GOOD. We will be hearing much more rhetoric just like this.
For years, Hillary and her socialist friends have prevented the oil companies from investing in new drilling sites and refineries, and when the oil companies make high profits, they want to confiscate the money. What other marxist ideas does this woman have?
If this doesn't scare the &^%$ out of people, I don't know what will.

Yesterday on Cavuto, there was mention that corporate tax receipts are at a higher level than they've been since 1970-something (I think it was 1977). This despite lowering corporate tax rates.
Hillary will change all that and it will hurt the economy, which is her intent. Just in time for '08.
Exxon probably paid more in taxes than they made in "profit". How come these obscene taxes never get mention?
Exxon-Mobile, a $441 billion company, made $39 billion profits (gross or net?). Less than 10% of capitalization, hardly compares to $100,000 on $10,000 in cattle futures.

I'll bet Hellery won't "take those profits" from Progressive Insurance, whose president, Lewis, gives millions to the Dems every election cycle. The threat to US corporations is clear: You give a hefty pay-off to me, or I'll take it from you, plus I'll punish you with some new laws. This is nothing other than Jesse Jackson's protection racket, which he's run against corporations for years, writ large.
You are right about that, and the taxes are paid first. The IRS probably has a shop right in the Exxon headquarters to make sure they get every penny.
Boy does she remind me of John Kerry! He was full of pronouncements! But he never seemed to have any viable alternate policies; just that they would do it better -- whatever!
