OMG!

Well I think, judging from your post that she feels GUILTY. otherwise she wouldnt be so reactionary.

while i realize all abortions are deliberate, hers was even more so from a spiritual and mental perspective.

she wasnt put in a position to "choose" or agonized over her "choice" as some claim. she made it up in her mind and exuted her plan.

im pretty sure, that it is a kindve guilt that cuts right to the bone.

She probally doesnt want to hear anything that remotly hints that what she did was monstrous, so she lashes out at everyone.

most that run that far pro choice (out of guilt, not out of pride) usually become the biggest advocates against abortion, later.

be patient with her. I would imagine she will need alot of compassion. lecturing her will only push her farther to the other side.

what a sad, sad story:(

I haven't said a thing about it to her. The first day, she said to me, I understand you now. It looks so much like a baby. I asked if she wanted a link to project rachel or wanted me to find out if there were any good counseling resources around, but she said she didn't want it, so I dropped it. I don't blame women who get abortions as much as I do the people promoting abortions. The ones who know what it is but lie to women because it's in their best interests, so they get women to believe it's no big deal and there is no baby. If I was brought up being told abortion is just a medical procedure and there is no baby involved by people I trusted, I might be pro-choice too and pass objections to it off as lunatics trying to control people. The ones who are to blame are the liars, the people profitting off of the suffering and death.

She's surrounded herself with people who are extremely pro-choice. I think that a little later down the line, she'll be disgusted with these people and maybe even angry at them for misleading her. I truly think you're right and one day she will be a big pro-life advocate...I just worry about any damage she'll do to herself and others in between then.

Interestingly enough, though, when the discussion of Crisis Pregnancy Centers having ultrasounds came up, all of her friends were saying it was horrible that they use ultrasounds, but she was very vocal and said every woman should have to see for herself because they're going to see it someday, somewhere, and if it was going to affect them, it was better for them to be affected while they had time to back out instead of after the fact. I think on some level she feels she's been deeply affected in a negative way and wants to keep other women from going through it, but maybe I'm just being hopeful.
