For Border Patrol Agents Joe Compean and Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos, February 7, 2005 was just another day of endless watching and waiting for illegal immigrants to cross the Rio Grande into the U.S. But catching illegals was a piece of cake compared to their battle against the drug cartels who are better-armed and whose foot soldiers outnumber them.
Over the last ten years or so, agents have been involved in a growing number of gun battles with drug runners on this side of the border. To say the least, the bad guys are getting more brazen and trigger-happy. So far, at least four smugglers have been killed. Our guardians of the Border have suffered no casualties. But the thought is always there: "Is this gonna be my day? Will I make it home tonight?"

I would like to see this agent investigated. He is protecting an enemy of this country.
I don't understand why noone is investigating this agent.
Looks like they are on to you these days John. Youre better when you are more subtle.
"It isn`t like OJ where the jury closed their eyes and voted the way the did because of race. "
You've got to be kidding right? Have you ever been to El Paso? The border patrol are about as popular there as Adolph Hitler is in Israel. El Paso is about 90% hispanic and there is no way of knowing how many of them are illegal or children of illegals. The jury was probably very hostile to the border patrol before ANY evidence was heard.

Read this and maybe you will begin to see a different side of Sutton.
I too would like to know why agent Renee Sanchez has not been investigated.
Don`t you have to be a registered voter to serve on a jury?
This isn`t about Sutton even if that leading newspaper thinks so. He wasn`t on trial.
What flavor is the koolaid tonight?
Try google Sutton and the House of Death. Sutton is not clean and he was in charge. Why else is he answering questions and not the other prosecutors?
most likely!
very happy to read your take on '10 most wanted' as dont have TV and get most news from internet. We have to keep up pressure until full pardon granted by Bush!!
Ignacio Ramos' father-in-law was just on John And Ken (KFI Radio).
Saturday night, after the airing of AMW, Ramos was beaten by 5 other prisoners, purportedly because he was identified from the AMW show. According to Joe Loya, he was not given medical care after being kicked in his head, arms, torso, etc. He was still "bleeding from one ear." Loya said Ramos' attorney (Botsford) is going to file assault charges.
There is one article posted from the El Paso Times (not postable at FR)
Ex-Border Patrol agent beaten in prison, family says

He also said today is Ramos' 38th Birthday.
This is sickening.
Loya was making other allegations that sounded a bit over the top (that he could have been put in a safer prison, but was instead put in a Yazoo City medium-security prison in Mississippi that houses many, many drug dealers who would want to do him harm).
While the beating happened Saturday night, as of today he had not yet gotten medical treatment.
How can they withhold medical care for any prisoner? This is an affront to his civil rights.
