I lived in NH ( West Swanzey near Keene ) for a few months back in 1995 and the place had changed quite a lot since I first fell in love with it in the late 70's . One could plainly see that the Libs from surrounding states had brought about significant changes , and all for the worse . Sad ...

At 300 bucks for 30 days worth of looking at resumés, no wonder the seekers outnumber the offerers.

A couple of us were sitting around the Control Room, NHites, one of whom was yelling about several tax bills being proposed, so another pulled up this from Maine, he is a reformed Mainiac.
He said this is the future. Said everyone he knows back home is unemployed, working for the minimum, or on the welfare.

He said this is the future. Said everyone he knows back home is unemployed, working for the minimum, or on the welfare. Well, you can argue that the state is an ass, but the article you gave doesn't show anything.
If it costs 300 bucks to post a job, and nothing to look for one, then OF COURSE you will get more lookers than offerers.
Nobody I know is unemployed or working for minimum. That means nothing either, of course - I'm in midcoast Maine, catchin' a wee bit o'snow right now...

Those little regional job Web sites aren't worth it.
Monster.com has 695 jobs listed for the Southern Maine area, 288 jobs for Northern NH, and 2030 jobs for Southern NH.
Some companies do not post job openings on Monster but DO look at resumes posted there. That's how I got my current job at a Fortune 500 company.

Nobody I know is unemployed or working for minimum. The person that made this statement, Crawfish, is from Old Town, Maine and begs to differ. If you are not working for the State or on the welfare, you are stuck in a low end service job with no hope of advancement.

Maine's biggest export is its educated young people. I first heard this at a FReep in Portland in 2002, and many times there after.
