But I just got off the phone with a high school friend whom I'd lost contact with. Many years ago, my phone rang and he asked if this was "Mike from North Caldwell." (I had just hung up from a call to either Rush or Bob Grant. I guess he had heard enough of my calls and he found me. So you probably know his heart is in the right place.) Tonight he called. He was outraged at the widespread acceptance of the notion of global warming, and he sort of asked rhetorically, "Why doesn't Bush put these people in their place?" So I asked him exactly whom he thought Bush has put in their place in his six plus years. The sad thing is that he couldn't really come up with anyone. Maybe he has said some unkind things about Hussein? But how 'bout a Democrat or two? (Or am I supposed to say a "Democratic" or two?) Turning the other cheek has its limits, especially when you are President of the United States.

prez bush is far too pious and civil to confront democrats and media critics
we will either be the minority holier-than-thou, or we will win
for me, i want a gop warrior who will rip their throats out
It's just the way he is. Accept it and move on.
