TOKYO -- Nissan is having a "performance crisis."
That's what the Japanese automaker's president, Carlos Ghosn, said on Friday after Nissan slashed its annual forecast and reported a 22 percent slump in earnings from October through December.
"We have today a performance crisis and we need to fix it as soon as possible," president and chief executive Ghosn told reporters in Tokyo in a conference call from Paris. "We don't take this lightly ... it's really an interrogation for us, about our management ways."

Nissan's cars have a fit & finish worthy of a Russian auto factory. Perhaps this partially explains their poor earnings.

My Xterra has been nothing but good to me. Likewise for the Sentra I had before that.

After what Nissan Motors did to
Uzi Nissan, I don't think I'd ever purchase one of their vehicles.

No complaints here.

The only complaint I have is with the local dealer who is a sleaze and therefore I'll never buy another Nissan and I wrote them and told them so.

My wife drives a 2006 Altima and likes it fine. It's comparable to a Camry; she prefers the styling. She has a four cylinder, it's got plenty of zip.
Definitely a comfortable, good handling choice.

Value is not there in Euro cars. Also, last few years most euro models have lost their quality edge in consumer reports while the Japanese continue their lead and Koreans making great gains in quality compared to Europe. When we buy Europe we're also paying a hefty price for their welfare like work rules, liberal extra paid days off, long vacations etc. No thanks...the value simply isn't there.
