Microsoft co-founder and former CEO Bill Gates has openly criticized Apple's 'Get a Mac' ads, called the company a liar, and questioned the security of Apple's Mac OS X operating system. In a recent interview with Newsweek, Gates compared Microsoft's recently released security-oriented Windows Vista to Apple's Mac OS X: "We made it way harder for guys to do exploits," Gates said, referring to Windows Vista. "The number [of violations] will be way less because we've done some dramatic things [to improve security] in the code base. Apple hasn't done any of those things." The executive also referenced the frequent discovery of flaws in Mac OS X. "Nowadays, security guys break the Mac every single day. Every single day, they come out with a total exploit, your machine can be taken over totally. I dare anybody to do that once a month on the Windows machine." Gates was likely referring to the 'Month of Apple Bugs' project -- which came under intense criticism this week for exploiting Safari users attempting to view a freshly-discovered bug.

I just remember a bunch of articles like the one below and it never occurred to me that Apple would consider putting two USB ports on instead of one to be a major inovation justifying a name change.
"So, Mac + iPod users are in the interesting position of being considered second class citizens by Apple, the maker of the Macintosh no less, as Mac users are being forced to pay extra for the superior FireWire connectivity that our iPods would naturally utilize to connect to our Macs. Because more Windows users buy iPods than Mac users, the iPod's connectivity is being dumbed down to match Wintel PC's second-rate "standards." Enjoy!
What's next, Apple, building Windows key support into iTunes and forcing Mac users to use a mapped function key on their Mac keyboards?"
Gets even trickier when you take a USB iPod back to 1955 and try to interface it with a Garrard turntable!
"my first G-r "
Typo, G-4
I bet some of the slashdot geeks could get that Garrard turntable to run linux.
Almost everyone uses CRAFTSMAN tools. People who use SNAP-ON tools have deep pockets and and big egos.
The only people who think SNAP-ON tools are the best, are the ones who have spent the money to buy them.
Yeah, ok, you're right. I flipped it over, and it does say 2001. Butcha know what? I'm still smug!!!!
Many children can understand what a metaphor is...as in the geek who is the "PC" represents the idea that those are the only types of people who use PC's.
Apparently your understanding of the ad is that a PC is literally a geeky human and a Mac is literally a cool human. You must have a heck of a time when you try and use a computer "joystick".
I know you're going to have a tough time pointing out where I posted that, so I'll try not to bother you too often, but I'll just ask again: Any luck?
Well, I stole it, of course!!!
That would also, by the way, be the intent of the creators of the ad. Thus the sentence "I'm a PC." The actor is a metaphor for a PC running Windows.
Nice try.
But not quite a good analogy.
A Craftsman 9/16" wrench is just as easy to use, and just as durable, as the Snap-On 9/16" wrench. The only difference is the finish. If you have ever used a Mac and a PC, it's a no-brainer as to which machine is ridiculously simpler to operate. The only reason most folks I know do not have a Mac, is the initial cost of buying one.
See #105 above.
It's been an hour now and I think you've had enough time to try to document this. I don't know why you would LIE about such a thing, but in light of your LIE, the next sentence of your post seems quite ironic.
You will say anything, just like the MacGuy.
The one willing to say anything here is YOU.
One other prime reason has been being tied to PC-specific apps. That problem is coming to an end.
LeBron James?
WTF?
Bill,
I appreciate the fact that you've built a multi billion dollar concern out of nothing. However, from a technical perspective, this is utter BS.
Even "Finder" cannot locate that which does not exist.
Did you catch the speech-recognition exploit? That one is hilarious.
