HILLARY'S WAR DOUBLE TALK 'John Kerry could not have said it worse himself.' (swift-vet audio) MISSUS CLINTON'S SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE PROBLEM - PART THREE
by Mia T, 2.2.07

-
Patently synthetic play-acting and carefully manicured sound bites like Mrs. Clinton's look out of touch. (Mr. Obama's bare-bones Webcast and Web site shrewdly play Google to Mrs. Clinton's AOL.) Besides, the belief that an image can be tightly controlled in the viral media era is pure fantasy. Just ask the former Virginia senator, Mr. Allen, whose past prowess as a disciplined, image-conscious politician proved worthless once the Webb campaign posted on YouTube a grainy but authentic video capturing him in an embarrassing off-script public moment. The image that Mrs. Clinton wants to sell is summed up by her frequent invocation of the word middle, as in "I grew up in a middle-class family in the middle of America." She's not left or right, you see, but exactly in the center where everyone feels safe.... This how she explains her vote to authorize the war: "I would never have expected any president, if we knew then what we know now, to come to ask for a vote. There would not have been a vote, and I certainly would not have voted for it." John Kerry could not have said it worse himself. No wonder last weekend's "Saturday Night Live" gave us a "Hillary" who said, "Knowing what we know now, that you could vote against the war and still be elected president, I would never have pretended to support it." Compounding this problem for Mrs. Clinton is that the theatrics of her fledgling campaign are already echoing the content: they are so overscripted and focus-group bland that they underline rather than combat the perennial criticism that she is a cautious triangulator too willing to trim convictions for political gain. Last week she conducted three online Web chats that she billed as opportunities for voters to see her "in an unfiltered way." Surely she was kidding. Everything was filtered, from the phony living-room set to the appearance of a "campaign blogger" who wasn't blogging to the softball questions and canned responses. Even the rare query touching on a nominally controversial topic, gay civil rights, avoided any mention of the word marriage, let alone Bill Clinton's enactment of the federal Defense of Marriage Act.... This, in other words, is a moment of crisis in our history and there will be no do-overs. Should Mrs. Clinton actually seek unfiltered exposure to voters, she will learn that they are anxiously waiting to see just who in Washington is brave enough to act. ohn Kerry could not have said it worse himself."
That wonderful turn of phrase by Frank Rich has the force to knock missus clinton off the stage finally, for good... (and for The Good).
There is a basic flaw in Rich's argument, however. Rich's criticism of clinton and her 'out-of-touch' campaign is constructive, as though clinton and her campaign are fixable.
Rich does not seem to understand that the clinton machine has no other option because its candidate is a dud.
With a Q score—a measure of celebrity likability among the hoi polloi—in the toilet, missus clinton can win elections only by running virtually unopposed... and then only with the help of protheses, props, poses, PR machines, scripted appearances, screened audiences, vetted questions, Secret Service barracades, secret police, softball settings and sycophantic hosts, fictionalizing, humanizing, digitizing and otherwise hiding the real hillary clinton. And then we have the baggage.... Anyone else but a clinton would have been summarily laughed off the stage. The American people must understand that to get this defective candidate elected, the clintons must pervert the electoral process, turn democracy on its head. That is to say, the best candidate must lose.
Hence the threats to the big donors.....

illary clinton is the not-so Human Chameleon.
She is a paradoxical personification of nothingness.
She is a simplistic parody of Woody Allen's intricately layered Zelig.
The life of missus clinton is a mock documentary about a non-entity who takes on the characteristics of whatever strong--
or useful--personality she comes in contact with.
Missus clinton's life seems small, and there is a reason for it: There aren't any characters in it.
Missus clinton proves what Woody Allen merely hypothesizes: The erroneousness of the almost universally held postulate that everyone is someone.

... While America appears not to be ready for a female president under any circumstances, the post-9/11 realities pose special problems for a female presidential candidate. Add to these the problems unique to missus clinton. The reviews make the mistake of focusing on the problems of the generic female presidential candidate running during ordinary times.
These are not ordinary times. America is waging the global War on Terror; the uncharted territory of asymmetric netherworlds is the battlefield; the enemy is brutal, subhuman; the threat of global conflagration is real. Defeating the enemy isn't sufficient. For America to prevail, she must also defeat a retrograde, misogynous mindset. To successfully prosecute the War on Terror, it is essential that the collective patriarchal islamic culture perceives America as politically and militarily strong. Condi Rice excepted, this requirement presents an insurmountable hurdle for any female presidential candidate, and especially missus clinton, historically antimilitary--(an image, incidentally, that is only enhanced today by her clumsy, termagant parody of Thatcher), forever the pitiful victim, and, according to Dick Morris, "the biggest dove in the clinton administration." It is ironic that had the clintons not failed utterly to fight terrorism... not failed to take bin Laden from Sudan... not failed repeatedly to decapitate a nascent, still stoppable al Qaeda... the generic female president as a construct would still be viable... missus clinton's obstacles would be limited largely to standard-issue clintonisms: corruption, abuse, malpractice, malfeasance, megalomania, rape and treason... and, in spite of Juanita Broaddrick, or perhaps because of her, Rod Lurie would be reduced to perversely hawking the "First Gentleman" instead of the "Commander-in-Chief."

Everyone will want to hear the soundbites of Old Hil at the Demoscats Winter Meetings and being aired by her stable boy, Rush Limbaugh today.
She's added a harsh gravelly Bella Abzug snarl to her speechyfing that is wonderfully Bull Dykey...a perfect and fitting repugnancy for such an attractive advocate of HATE.

Evita does not have a gram of conviction or commitment in her. She is politically, just as opportunistic and shamelessly self-promoting and arrogant as her 'husband'. Her 'performance' is so maladroit and patently self-conscious that only a regular numb skull would accept it

"I think she's a greater threat" Me too!! Hillary's handlers, in concert with her MSM idiot savants, will do for Hillary what they continue to do for Bill: Turn character flaws, personal vices, gaffes and goofs, into virtues. You know the drill, it's already started. Saturday Night Live skits and late night comics will morf her into the same kind of loveable liar that Bill has become, and she'll be praised for being so skilled a self-serving scoundrel.

Forgive me, but every time I read the following, I have a response I do not offer ... I'm gonna respond this time:
"Missus clinton's life seems small, and there is a reason for it: There aren't any characters in it." Actually, Mia, there is no character in Hillary Rodham; she had too many characters around her as she merely slithered along amongst them, acting as willing and even eager enabler for these characters in their degeneracy.
What Hillary Rodhamster's handlers must do in order to get her elected is create the image of character upon a screen where there is no character, no strength of character or worthiness. Hillary was in fact a victim of degenerate bill's malignant character. With such a person who was not only a victim but a willing enabler for the continuance of her victimhood America should not be victimized, because this woman will make US visits not only of her missing strength of character but victims of our dangerous enemies.
Make no mistake, missus clinton is void of character, but surrounded by characters pleading with US to imagine that she has character as our vision is blurred by the constant parade of dissonant characters and media propagandists. The woman is an empty victim. We must not allow her handlers to make US victims with her or because of her vacuousness, further victims of unopposed terrorists and hillary's dream of socialist utopia for America.

I see your point. Even thought the SNL skit is devastating for hillary (see below), the logic could easily get lost in the political burlesque, especially among the uniformed.
SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE SYNDROME
-
If the Saturday Night Live clip and missus clinton's "I'm in!" video taken together make plain the absurdity of a hillary clinton commander-in-chief, 4 the Iowa misstep reinforces it.
- Watching the Saturday Night Live clip and missus clinton's "I'm in!" video in succession confirms the obvious: The pundits and pols are asking the wrong hillary! question.
The fundamental question concerning missus clinton's candidacy isn't "Can she win?"... or "Will she win?"... or even "Should she win?" No. The fundamental question is this: "Can missus clinton be taken seriously? Is missus clinton's candidacy more than simply a bad joke? Is missus clinton's candidacy legitimate? " By asking the other questions, legitimacy is the presumption, the unasked question, the "When did you stop beating your wife?" sort of fallacy. But the Saturday Night Live clip and missus clinton's "I'm in!" clip taken together belie that presumption. The reason the Saturday Night Live sequence is so devastating is because it is not the usual SNL farce based on fact. Rather, it is fact based on farce. And missus clinton's "I'm in!" video confirms it. Let down the curtain: the farce is done. (Rabelais) Somebody stick the fork in that baby, already. Please.
ADDENDUM:
- This exchange on Hardball underscores the farcical condition of the hillary clinton candidacy. Pay special attention to Howard Fineman.

Clinton has hit upon the perfect way to have it both ways by keeping her finger in the wind of public opinion polls. Whatever is the opinion of the day, she is for that. Changeable as the wind, but never really changes. A cold, hard woman who intends to be Queen of the World, and pity anyone who gets in her way. I don't know why anyone cares a fig what she SAYS she is going to do about any issue. When one can lie with abandon, then what she REALLY thinks is what she will REALLY do IF she gets the power. . which she must not.

We actually agree. What I was referring to was precisely her vacuousness. Like the way you moved from 'no characters' to 'no character.'
Where we disagree: That she hooked up with bill clinton in the first place belies your statement that she is bill's victim. hillary knew exactly what she was doing when she hooked up with bill.

BTW, her 'Viking' reference (when she saw bc for the first time, he reminded her of a Viking) was likely a inside joke (or else she is even more stupid than she appears). (Vikings were rapists.) She was giving her detractors the figurative finger.

Mia, we have been told repeatedly that she was the victim in her marriage. Regardless of how she latched onto the degnerate one, she remained attached to this bulbous-nosed sex addict, making her a victim of his continuous filandering. I've never bought the worship of Jackie Kennedy since she knew all along that Jack was a sex addict 'doing' anything with a skirt, so she too played enabler while he remained alive. HOWEVER, hillary played publicly the victim while privately commanding the enabler role ... and if anyone doubts that, note her directing of the bimbo eruption platoon and her 'handling' of Juanita during her husbands campaign. A woman who will play such a twisted/mentally unhealthy dual role will put this nation in a similar position of being victim while enabling the march of terrorism.

You are right. hillary clinton plays the victim. For votes. Ask Susan Estrich.
hillary clinton is no 'victim,' and she is no simple 'enabler.'
Missus clinton was complicit in the clinton rapes and predations.

Rush played a soundbite from Hillary today where she was commenting on the record-breaking profits of Exxon. She remarked in a very loud, shrill and imperical tone that she is going to take those profits away and work wonders with them. Can someone tell me just how this Wannabe Dictator plans on TAKING profits from anyone? Perhaps someone should suggest that her obscenely and miraculously high cattle futures' profits should be where she begins her philanthropical government giveaway largesse.
