"Moderate" Muslims, Muslims who oppose deeds of terror in the name of Islam, believe in democracy and do not wish to live under strict Sharia laws, still often are skeptical to the picture presented by official Western media of things like the 9/11 attack and the US lead invasion of Iraq.

One cause to this is Al-jazeera (seeking to gain media ground by slandering its competitors) and another one is wishful thinking. Decent Muslims feel what they interpret as their innermost belief and cultural foundation is being made a scapegoat by Westerners. One argument they bring up sometimes is that both Saddam and Al-Qaeda once were heavily supported by the West and that too few Westerners wish to admit this.

Even though I feel many Moderate and secularized Muslims ought to reflect more sincerely upon what actually is going on in their own home countries and (in many cases) neighborhoods as well as the political and economical support we Westerners have given them, we ought to see things from their point of view too.

I'm not saying Islamofascism will go away by efforts aiming at cross-cultural understanding, but I AM saying there are a vast number of Muslims who might today be suspicious towards the West, especially the US, that it yet is possible and desirable to get more of support from in the WOT.

We ought to demand of them to speak out against Islamofascism, but we should also refrain from lumping all Muslims into one undifferentiated mass. Such talk will only make it easier for Islamofascists to portray us Westerners as hostile invaders and enemies.

No, I don't need to see things from their point of view. Their religion declared war on us, we didn't declare war on them. It just so happened that there was no specific return address to respond to the attacks (yes, plural), and Saddam was as good a target as we could find.

So called moderate or secular Muslims are posers, when it comes right down to making the choice between the terrorists and western civilization, they side with the terrorists. Islam has robbed them of the ability to think rationally.

My family almost experienced the barbarism that defines Islam on July 7, 2005, London. My son missed his train from Gloucester station because he had over slept, or he might have been among the dead.
