And you expect these folks to know how to reset their system clocks
give me a break.
Click on the clock and reset the time. Everyone with a computer has done it at some point. Takes about 15 or 20 seconds to reset the time forward an hour. And you expect people to download and install a windows fix? No, you give me a break.... You're crazy!
And your training experience is what?
What I speak of comes from over 28 years of training experience. Most computer owners only know how to turn on their computers and check e-mail, after that it is guess work at best. They may be proficient in Word or Excel
but to do anything else is beyond their comprehension. Why should they learn anything else, they have a competent group of computer specialist available if they get into trouble or have questions.
To ask them to remember a procedure that only happens once a year or so
give me a break!
Perhaps you are forgetting something? Folks following your suggestion will be disappointed when the computer automatically changes the time again using the old DST schedule.
So, as long as you're making the manual change, click on the Time Zone tab and uncheck the box at the bottom of the window. And don't forget to click the Apply button when you're done.
