"A chain of explosive charges disguised as rocks laid the area of Avivim
on the Israeli-Lebanese border: a Hezbollah test case for Israel,
the first time since the second Lebanon war"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "3. Hezbollah's laying the charges near the blue line is the first of that type of event to occur since the end of the second Lebanon war. The charges were unprofessionally placed by Hezbollah in a chain, enabling the IDF to discover them. Exploiting the current stormy weather, Hezbollah apparently positioned them during the past few days."

Assad: Syria firm in its support for Hizbullah, Hamas

Published: 02.08.07, 01:15 / Israel News

Syrian President Bashar Assad vowed to keep supporting Hizbullah and Hamas despite US pressure on Syria to stop backing the groups, Baath Party members familiar with a speech the Syrian leader gave on Wednesday said.

"The president was clear that Syria's support for the two movements will continue and that their resistance to regain occupied land was a legitimate right," Baath Party member Mostafa al-Meqdad said. (Reuters)
