Subject : Join the Virtual March: Call your Senator Now to Stop the Escalation
Today's the day. Can you call your Senator and tell him you want him to stop the escalation and end the war?
Dear MoveOn member,
Today's the day. Today, hundreds of thousands of us are calling, emailing, and writing Congress to make sure they hear loud and clear: it's time to stop President Bush's escalation in Iraq.
Why now? Any day now, the Senate will vote on an important resolution to stop the escalation. We need to make sure that resolution goes throughand it's going to be close. Key senators are making decisions right now about whether to say no to escalation in the strongest way possible.
Your Senator needs to hear from you right away. Can you call him as part of today's Virtual March? It just takes a few minutes. Here are the numbers:
Reporting your call is really important. It's how we know how many senators have been contacted, how many calls have been made and what kind of impact our calls are making. Reporting your results only takes a second. Just click the link below:

The best thing you can do when you call is speak from the heart. Just tell the person who answers why it's important to you to stop the escalation and end the war on Iraq. The best way to get your point across is to be brief, firm and polite.
Getting a big bipartisan vote on the resolution is critically important, but it's also just the first step. We're not going to stop until Congress passes binding legislation to block the escalation.
Today is a critical day in the fight to block escalation in Iraq and we could really use your help. Can you call your Senator today?
Thanks for all you do,

P.S. We were very saddened to learn that Molly Ivins, syndicated columnist and progressive movement hero, passed away yesterday. She, and her family, are in our thoughts and prayers. Her last column was titled, "Stand Up Against the Surge" and we have dedicated today's Virtual March to her. You can read her final column here:
And below is one of our favorite quotes from Molly:
"Sit up, join up, stir it up, get online, get in touch, find out who's raising hell and join them. No use waiting on a bunch of wussy politicians."
P.P.S. We're not asking you to call your Super Lib Senator name deleted because (he/she/it) has already indicated that (he/she/it) will vote to stop escalation in the strongest terms possible.

Knowing she and her family "are in (the) thoughts and prayers" of the move on bunch does not suggest a pleasant final destination.
I just thought I would share what Move on is up to. I had to delete or alter several links that would identify me and get me removed from their elite mailing list.
Have fun! Josh
