One of the students mentioned to her friend that there were bunches of Middle-Eastern guys buying phones in the Radio Shack at Metrocenter, Jackson, MS.
About 13 men or so bought the tracphones and her clerk friend also said that many of them came in buying phones in the afternoon as well.
I contacted the FBI in Jackson already.
After 9/11 everyone had their flags at half mast (by presidential "orders" or whatever in observance of 9/11). I kept driving past a KFC joint that had theirs at full mast. After a few days and getting pissed every time I went passed it, I went in and asked them about it. It seemed to be a ME family running it (mom with headscarf and robe, etc.), In broken english they said the pulley was broken and couldn't come down.
I went around to the side (and luckily out of view) to see if I could "fix" it. I guess I had the magic touch as I pulled on the rope easily put it at half mast. (I was in a hurry so did not run it all the way down and back up again!).
I went home and called the local police of what had happened in case they might be interested. (They said they would "look into it".)

Dude, you're having a hard time following this aren't you? I'm the one who sees several men purchasing cell phones as nothing out of the ordinary. It's others here who see several men purchasing cell phones and think they are buying IED triggers and rush off to call the FBI!

Agreed, we do not really know what is going on.
The authorities can not tell us what is going on without risking giving away information that may be used against the terrorists.

My house is in Laurel, MD. The 9/11 terrorists stayed in two motel/hotels here. You can walk through the woods around my house right up to the back of one of those hotels (about a quarter of a mile) the other hotel was about a quarter of a mile in the other direction.
I take nothing for granted and take notice of everything I can.
PS: Both of these hotels have been totally destroyed and other buildings have been built where they once were.

If the object of terrorists is to provoke terror, these folks who are panicing over something that past history says is benign are actually fostering terrorism, are they not ?
But wait ! THAT'S the plan, buy up hundreds of phones at different times around the country, and ship them overseas to make a buck ... then... when the time is right, buy the 6 you need for your nefarious plan and noone will notice !
