I'm not worried about France trying to impose a tax on the US...they're going to fall to the muslims long before they get around to that.

There is extraordinary wine produced in U.S.

My hubby and I visit wineries wherever we travel.

My husband has gotten into wine making, and is making some very good wines. It's a pretty inexpensive hobby, and it is not very time-consuming at all.

I think France should do something about all those burning cars scattered all over their country every month, surely that's not helping the environment, is it?

Even the French don't buy French stuff. It costs too much and it's pure merde anyway.

" It's saber rattling, that's all. Dismiss it."

Most do, but the MSM liberal media LOVES france and all things french. They will make a big stink and the Dems will play off the coverage and try to force us to sign the treaties.

The dems are commies anyway and will find a way to toe the leftist global warming protections line anyway. It may take until they get the presidency but it will happen.

Besides, there are few real conservatives in our government any more. Most republicans left just want to avoid angering their democrat masters.

One way to get your article read is state “France tells US to do ______”.
Face it, France can’t tell the US to do anything. They (and the rest of Europe) don’t want a trade war with the US. Besides, as the article pointed out, France is already protectionist in their policies and talks out of both sides of their mouth. Yawn. Are they still talking?

What an enjoyable thread this is! Thanks for starting it!!

Chirac's time in power is running out and his best friend was hanged a few weeks ago.

We should try to be more understanding of Chirac, who is going through difficult times. /s

Try Chopin Vodka. It's made from potatos as vodka is supposed to be. It's made in Poland not France. It is extra awesome, really!

Try Chopin Vodka.

I like Chopin as well. My other "Top Shelf" choice is Hangar - distilled in an old NAS Alemeda hanger. And then there is Level, and.....

Well, you get the idea...

Nice photo; is that a house cat lying down behind Der Fuehrer? That cat had more courage than the French army.

demanded that the United States sign both the Kyoto climate protocol and a future agreement that will take effect when the Kyoto accord runs out in 2012.

BFD. The EU will be history by 2012, and quite possibly France will be, too. Its islamic successor will not care in the least about carbon.

We'll take it in the scrap metal and stone from the Arc De Triumphe and the Eiffel Tower.

Heh. You could have had it from the rail car where the WWI armistice was signed, and the large monument next to it commemorating the French victory.

-- except that in 1940 Hitler took the car back to Berlin with him and had the stone memorial blown to smithereens. vive la france.

BAck the 80's I witnessed two French sailors actually washing their hair in a toilet in Penn Station, NYC. You want to speak of a barf alert.

What...Probably cleaner than the water on their boat.

Great. Good idea. Why dont' we recriprocate and slam a union and minimum wage tax on all imported items from countries that do not bestow worker-paradise benefits to their workforce, and do not implement the same enviromental protection protocols that the U.S.A. does.

Why after WWII did we portray them as our friends?

Because the allies needed a postwar alternative to the communists, who were the main reason the French army did not resist the nazis and potentially the prime beneficiary.

DeGaulle and his rump "Free French" government in London were a bunch of skanks but provided the strong-man alternative to Stalinism. We installed him as the French government after the liberation of Paris by American troops, pretending he had something to do with it to boost domestic legitimacy.
