Morris: Hillary will be ‘worst president we’ve ever seen’

Dick Morris is no fan of Sen. Hillary Clinton, having spent much of the past decade writing and speaking out against her. And he took his always-quotable opinions to the offices of Americans for Tax Reform Wednesday at a breakfast sponsored by The American Spectator.

Dick’s greatest hits:

» Although Barack Obama is an “exciting phenomenon,” he is the equivalent of “political stem cells: You can make him into any tissue you want.”

» “It is in the national interest that, if there is a Democratic president, that it not be Hillary.”

» “The Republican field is like the New York Yankees: They’ve got a pitching rotation of really great names who are 45 years old and who probably won Cy Young Awards when they were younger. But they’ll have a sore arm by the World Series and will end up on the [disabled list]. Republicans need to look to the minor leagues.”

» He laid out the political future: “Hillary will be the next president, and she’ll be the worst president we’ve ever seen.” No matter what happens, the situation in Iraq will “assure that the GOP gets massacred in 2008 congressional elections.” In 2010, the Republicans will take back the Congress — “Hillary will give Republicans the same gift she gave them in 1994” — and they’ll win the presidency in 2012, but thanks to demographic shifts favoring Republicans (namely the rising Hispanic and African-American populations), “that will be the last Republican president we’ll ever see.”

Dick meant the Democrats. With the illegal alien amnesty and the shift of gentrified suburbs to the Democrats, we're probably not going to see any more Republican Presidents in this country after 2012.

Who does Morris think he is, Nostradamus or something?

Does he mean "favoring Democrats"?

Morris is only correct about 25% of the time. I don't know why people listen to him or how he gets any airtime.

Hill is competent, which is more than can be said for a lot of her dem associates. But she's evil and that's the reason she should not be elected.

All of this assumes Hillary can beat the GOP nominee. A lot has to happen between now and 2009 before we know who will be our next President. Look at what happened to Howard Dean. He seemed at one point unstoppable and then there came the scream in Iowa that finished him off.

I think you are correct.

What Morris does not consider is what could be the great equalizer and that is education. The main difference between liberals and conservatives is that liberals think idealistically and conservatives think logically. If Conservatives (whether they be in the GOP or in a 3rd party) can articulate their views in a clear manner to the American public, liberalism can be utterly destroyed. Remember that a big percentage of the Dem base is not left-wing hippies, but are blue collar workers and blacks that vote Democrat by habit more than anything else.

I had a conservation recently with a blue collar Dem that was in favor of the minimum wage hike. In about 10 minutes I was able to show him that not only was a minimum wage increase bad for the economy, but that a government mandated minimum wage was contrary to capitalism. It saddens me that in 12 years the GOP led Congress couldn't do the same thing that I was able to do in 10 minutes.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who thought this comment made no sense.

There are two people whose advice I will always take with a grain of sand: Dick Morris and Carlton Tucker. There are worthless at political pundits, imho.

I agree with him on a couple of things here. Her being the worst president this country could ever have, the damage she would inflict. And, that with the shifting population to hispantic and black Americans, we are going to simply be out numbered. Those two sections will vote Marxist dimocrats for the freebies.

Because I don't see how demographic shifts favoring the Republicans will result in the last Republican president we'll ever see.

It's a silly prediction anyway. Even if demographic shifts do turn the nation left, the parties would just realign along the new axis to accomodate it. The two-party system is too deeply written into this country's governing structure to be erased like Morris cavalierly concludes.

Morris believes Hillary combines Nixon's paranoia with absolute ruthlessness and absolute disregard for the law and the country. Other than that, she'd be a great President. Imagine that whining, nasal monotone drifting into our homes day after day. Having her shriek "I'm sick and tired of....", "I really resent..." and so on.

Her aborted attempt to socialize health care also showed her to be without respect for Congress' role. She ignored people who warned that her "My way or the highway" attitude doesn't work in a government with separation of powers. She didn't listen and went down in flames.

She has terrible political instincts. She is the opposite of her "husband". Any unscripted moment is an opportunity for disaster. A Ghandi joke, an indecipherable allusion to "evil men", etc. A President has to make statements every day and every word is scrutinized. One false step can precipitate an international crisis or cause the stock market to plunge. It's amusing to see Hollywood criticize President Bush. They can't get the lines right with a script and four takes.
