She sure looked older than that.I had an uncle die of cancer eight months after he retired.
The family members went out over the course of a month to basically say goodbye - we knew from the diagnosis that he was not gonna pull through.
My parents went out in January and then sent me pictures. He looked like a robust guy in his late sixties - just as I remembered him.
I went to see him a month later. He looked like my grandfather did at age 93, sick and about to die in a nursing home.
Cancer ate him up that much in one horrible month.

I credit Ms. Ivins with keeping me a Republican. May she rest in peace.

RIP....Molly Ivins.
It is (or I thought was) a known fact that women who never have children have breast cancer at higher rates....

Molly Ivins, whose biting columns mixed liberal populism with an irreverent Texas witOh that's what you call it.

I also say RIP. I do hope she found God before she died and asked him to forgive the bitter hate she carried against our beloved President.

I never read Molly Ivins' columns, but did see her once or twice on TV. She smiled a lot and seemed to have a wry sense of humor. I hope her final days weren't too painful.
