Thanks for your ping list, areafiftyone; it's fun to read all these opinions on Rudy. Stay with it!

Excellent. An actual common sense conservative. I was starting to think that was a dying breed.

Perfect has become the enemy of the good, and we saw that borne out during this past Novembers elections. I am hopeful that our Party will avoid needless debates over a non-existent perfect candidate. Framing a discussion about prospective candidates in a fraudulent manner like this is a clear sign of Rudy Giuliani's weaknesses as a prospective nominee. I don't know a single Freeper opposed to Giuliani who insists on having a "perfect" candidate at all. It's just that it would be nice to get a GOP candidate who is conservative on more than 15% of the issues.

I have chosen to support Mayor Giuliani because I believe we need to embrace the ideals and the values that unite us.Pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, anti-family, pro-gun confiscation, pro-hate crimes. What's not to like?
It's thrilling to know that Giuiliani so perfectly embodies the ideals and values of (social) liberals everywhere.

This whole article is insulting and condescending. It is yet another example of a Rudy-ophile just accepting as truth the premise that all Republicans who oppose Rudy seek nothing less than a PERFECT candidate. It shows that Jim Nussle is out-of-touch with the base (no surprise there), and that the Rudy camp has little to offer SoCons and gun Conservatives other than belittling and contempt.
Shame on Jim Nussle for this letter, shame on him. Not for backing Rudy - which is his right - but for reasserting false platitudes about those who have reservations about Giuliani, while condescending us as children who don't understand why our issues don't matter as long as there is anyone ion the world who means to do us harm.
Shame on you, Jim Nussle. Yours is the argument that polarizes us yet further from Rudy. It's like a Rudy opposer constantly premising every article against Rudy by stating as an understood, universal fact that Rudy Giuliani wants an abortion clinic annexed at every elementary school.

It will come down to two or three candidates for President. It's almost impossible to get one who will agree with EVERYTHING we stand for.
