I'm sure all these celebrities are going to give up their 20,000 sq foot mansions, limos, private planes, unnecessary travel, etc. to support this. They couldn't possibly expect the rest of us to ride bikes to work while they continue their opulent lifestyles.

I will file this with the warnings of the '70s that said the oceans would be dead in 10 years and we would freeze to death. Guess if one story doesn't work then try a new one.

This article might be a lot of things (probably not), but it is certainly not breaking news.

I remember around 1990 when Ted Danson was on TV saying if we didn't do something that day, the oceans wouldn't exist as we know them in 2000.
There's something about 10 years the liberal kooks like.

Isn't that nice. Tell the Celebrities to do it with their own money, not mine.

I like going to the libraries and second hand stores in my area looking through all the old books. Some of the titles crack me up: "The Coming Depression of the 1980's, World War lll in the 1990's, etc..... Yeah, these authors had it right. That's what I think of when I see this 10 year global warming/doom crap! Just another dusty book on the shelf.

A billion people could give up a ton a year for the next decade---or this bunch of rich, self-indulgent knuckleheads could tell their entourages, press agents, charter pilots, catering services, etc. to go find useful work, and then crawl under their beds and stay there. Comes out about the same.

"Global Cool launched in London and LA today and is calling on one billion people to reduce their carbon emissions by just one tonne a year, for the next 10 years"
Fine, let the LDC's do that.

"A new worldwide movement backed by celebrities, musicians, politicians and business leaders is aiming to reverse the effects of global warming over the next decade."Ah, representatives of the cream of the crop in all the sciences. I'm sure these brave and enlightened individuals can tell us all we need to know about physics and geology and are well qualifited to shut off our heat and make us turn in our cars.
