A new worldwide movement backed by celebrities, musicians, politicians and business leaders is aiming to reverse the effects of global warming over the next decade.
Global Cool launched in London and LA today and is calling on one billion people to reduce their carbon emissions by just one tonne a year, for the next 10 years

DiCaprio is the only one I've EVER heard of.
A big help would be if all the celebs stopped flying around in private jets but I'm confidant that they want all "the little people" to save the planet while they continue to do what they do.

They need to fly on private jets so they can warn the people all over the World! If they burn a ton in order to convince somebody else to save a ton, it all comes out in the wash... see!?!

Every 10 years we get the same 10 year prediction. If these numbnuts are any good, they could tell us what will happen 100, 200 or 500 years from now - eh?

it's a shame that they don't have abilities to think for themselvesYou noticed that too? ;^)
It appears to me that Ms. Tunstall knows very little of her country's history. From 4000 BC to 1000 BC, Scotland was agriculturally productive. Since then, climate changes have made Scotland a harsher land.
Obviously, I need to go back for further study (reading from a book on Ancient Scotland), but it did strike me that in 6000 BC, sea levels were nine meters higher than at present.

I think I'm going to step up my C02 output, just to have fun with the Stupid Left.

They already have told us Westerners to go to hell. They are excluded in this carbon emission reduction scandal. It would hurt their economy.
They are laughing their @sses off and building coal refineries by the dozens while we haven't been allowed to build one in 17 years.
Take over the West and Capitalism by proxy. Is everyone on the left a Communist or just stupid?

A big help would be if all the celebs stopped flying around in private jetsThe crucial point is - it would make literally no difference to our climate if everyone on the planet flew around in a private jet. Anthropogenic CO2 is a truly tiny part of climate change (its 0.28% of all greenhouse gases, and greenhouse is a small peturber compared with the milankovitch cycle and solar changes). Also CO2 is buffered by plant uptake and ocean absorbtion.

I think I'm going to step up my C02 output, just to have fun with the Stupid Left. NO! Think of the benefits of "reducing your carbon footprint." For example, an IRS auditor asked me for a copy of a worksheet I had prepared for a client.
I replied that I couldn't, because I am reducing my carbon footprint.
After judging his immediate reaction of disbelief, I smiled and produced the copy. That broke the tension, and we were able to resolve the situation (with no further tax liability to the client).

And what is wrong with warmer winters? Fewer homeless freeze to death on the streets. The stupidity of these people is just evidenced by their not thinking this through. If global temperatures rise a point or two its not going to inconvenience any one.

Congrats! Based on this wisdom alone, you are now a global warming expert. (It doen't take much for these wackos). Give yourself some credit. :o)

Is everyone on the left a Communist or just stupid?A small percentage of them are extremely intelligent and thoroughly evil. The rest are stone cold stupid.

Follow the money...Global Warming is a multi-billion dollar per year industry. From scientists receiving government grants to study the "problem" to media in the form of books & videos to conferences that generate tons of money from attendees.
If global warming disappears many of these people will have to find another way to make a living.

What's their damned hurry? I don't think the world is going to end in 10 years. I notice these same people are not worried about the prospect of imminent extinction by an Iranian nuclear bomb. Nor are they alarmed at declining birth rates throughout the Western World. They are focusing on a very minor problem that no one can do absolutely nothing to change, even if granting, which I do not for a moment subscribe to, it was true.
