WASHINGTON, D.C. — A plan by the Bush administration to release detailed and possibly damning specific evidence linking the Iranian government to efforts to destabilize Iraq have been put on hold, U.S. officials told FOX News.

Officials had said a "dossier" against Iran compiled by the U.S. likely would be made public at a press conference this week in Baghdad, and that the evidence would contain specifics including shipping documents, serial numbers, maps and other evidence which officials say would irrefutably link Iran to weapons shipments to Iraq.

Fallon made mention of Iran in his hearing:

"Well duh...why don't they release it?

For the same reason we have been repeatedly releasing Iranian agents captured in Iraq. The State Department does not want to do anything to further inflame the diplomatic efforts with a country that has threatened to destroy us!

From the BBC report linked above on the Fallon confirmation....tacked on at the end.....

******************************************

Separately, John Negroponte, the first US director of intelligence and a former ambassador to Iraq and to the UN, for the post of deputy secretary of state, answered questions from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

He backed recent tough talk towards Iran, saying Tehran was meddling in Iraq, and insisted that a diplomatic channel was already open with Syria.

Dumb move at best. The Iranians know fully well we have a good idea who is doing what in Iraq. Nothing is gained by playing pussy foot. If anything, the administration just gives the morons on the hill more ammo to play their stupid games, and the L/MSM more ammo in molding the American and the rest of the world into thinking this administration is incompetent.

Hell, I'm still waiting for the Bush Administration to release the facts on that caravan of 18-wheelers from Iraq to Syria, picked up on satellite, three months before we invaded. What the hell DO the leftie dimwits 'think' was being transported on that miles-long caravan??? Oh yeah, and about those commercial Iraqi airlines that were converted into cargo planes.....

If Bush & Co. keeps 'sitting' on all this info.....we'll all be speaking anything BUT English and the Muslims will have most of our heads hanging on their walls for souveniers.

What the hell are they waiting for?
___
Well duh...why don't they release it?
Oh, it's politically INcorrect?

Well try this on for stupid....article from the Guardian ...linkage to the CQ:

January 30, 2007
Damning Us For Our Success

*********************88AN EXCERPT *************************

Ali Ansari has a strange column in today's Guardian regarding Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and US hawks. He wants to argue that Ahmadinejad's presidency is failing and that the economic pressures on the Iranian economy have accelerated his decline. However, he then claims that American hawks may yet save Ahmadinejad and scold us for not propping him up:

Ahmadinejad was elected on a platform of anti-corruption and financial transparency, and few appreciated how rapidly he was intoxicated with the prerogatives of his office. He very soon forgot the real help he had received in ensuring his election, basking in the belief that God and the people had put him in power. Ahmadinejad soon had a view for all seasons: uranium enrichment. Of course Iran would pursue this, and what's more, sell it on the open market at knockdown rates. As for interest rates, they were far too high for the ordinary borrower, so cut them immediately. And then there was the Holocaust.

And there are these comments from the world media...see link just above:

****************************

Yet the reality is that while Ahmadinejad has been his own worst enemy, the US hawks are his best friends.

I don't know why they're holding back, but I did expect it'd be the incontrovertible type of information.

Boggles the mind doesn't it???

With a few well timed press conferences, some show n' tell presentations...we'd have the Rats all bleeding from their ears and we could elect NEWT as President. The country would be so proud of our President. Perkie Katie's knickers would be in such a bunch!!

Maybe some day the WH will decide it's important to the war effort to stand up to democrat lies about the relationship between Saddam and AQ.

They've let the lies grow until they are impossible to defend against now.
