Heard part of Howard Zinn on the radio today (I'm in Houston). He was saying the Islamic terrorist threat is overstated as was the Communist threat.
I suspect that those who deny the threats side with the enemies of America. Mr. Zinn wrongly said that Communism did not pose a threat to the US (it is the core of the anti-war protests today and KGB files show that they were trying to influence American policy). He says that the US posed a greater nuclear threat than the Soviets (except that the Soviets were a finger away from launching a Mutally Assured Destruction attack in the 1980s (from a faulty sensor reading).
"Educational Taping Rights: 1 year"
Does this mean that a Tivo recording would expire in one year?
Q: You were in the Clinton administration. You were the guy whose job it was to chase bin Laden, before chasing bin Laden became cool. How close did you come to catching him?
A: I think it's important for everyone to know that we had 10 opportunities to capture or kill Osama bin Laden between May of 1998 and May of 1999.
Q: Ten? In one calendar year?
A: Ten in one calendar year. We could have tried twice using CIA assets to capture him. And eight times we provided the Clinton administration and the Department of Defense, the military, with precise targeting information of where he was. And I'm not talking about the general neighborhood. For example, in the middle of May 1999, we knew in which building and in which room in the building bin Laden was sleeping for five consecutive nights in Kandahar City.
It's always amazing to me. You know, President Bush, I think, deserves a lot of criticism for a lot of things that he's done. But until 9/11, when he was president, he never had a chance to capture or kill Osama bin Laden because we couldn't find him. It was the Clinton administration that really could have ended the bin Laden part of this threat.
It's only half an episode. Now they are telling us all about the private lives of actresses in the Russian equivalent to "Sex In The City". And the hostess of this segment seems cheery about the novel situation.
Simpleminded BS. Bread and circuses. Never mind the lion in your backyard.
...I'd just set my clock backwards....
I was lucky enough to record this on my DVR at 0200 this morning after a heads up about it on FR last night. I will watch it today and post my thoughts later today.

It was disappointing, all I got out of it, was that some Muslims in Canada are against Jihad and stop calling all Muslims murders even though we knew all the people and we are th4e ones who ratted them out...oh, by the way, there are some facts on the terror cel, too.
You've outdone yourself again with that one!!!
The body language just cracks me up!!!
Now our infamous CA Governor has slapped something somewhat as threatening over 25 million acres of eastern CA in the form of an innocent sounding "Sierra-Nevada CONservancy" state agency for dictatorial land-use regulation!!! (Yes, I know... He's a Republican! That's what makes it doubly threatening!)
I thought "Waco: Rules of Engagement" was pretty brutally honest.
I had a suspicion you drove a Jag. :)
CAIR expresses outrage. This is a recording.
