READ: John 10:1-11
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10
On a family visit to Disneyland, I pondered the sign over the entrance arch that read, Welcome to the happiest place on earth. The rest of the day I looked at the faces of the people and was impressed by the small number who were actually smiling during their visit to the happiest place on earth. I roamed the park with divided attentiontrying to make sure my kids had a good time and wondering why so few adults seemed to be enjoying themselves.
As I think of that day, I am reminded of a line from an old song that says, Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone. So it seems.
To live life to the fullest is qualitatively different than merely existing. In fact, Jesus said that part of His mission was to enable us to live life to the fullest: I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10). He came so that we could experience life to the fullnot according to the standards of a fallen world, but life as it was intended to be. It is life according to the designs and desires of the Creator of life.
By coming to provide forgiveness for rebellious, broken people, Jesus has made it possible for us to live a life of joy and hope in a world of despair.
Good morning all!
GB...this a wonderful subject. That child is so gifted.
I got an e-mail with her story and was wondering how to use it. Now I won't have to. Her talent is just amazing...and inspirational.
Thanks, GeeBee.....
Thank you so much, GeeBee, for this beautiful subject of your thread today. Akiane is truly extraordinary and inspired, and I think a kindred spirit for many of us here.

GeeBee! You continue to amaze me with your threads. This is sooooooooooo pretty! What a beautiful little girl, and her work is mind-boggling!
Thank you for the beauty and the originality you bring with your posts. I always look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays, just to see the "new" openings!
Absolutely breathtaking....I went to the site, what a lovely child and angelic voice! It has to be talent from God as she said.
When I grow up, I want to be just like her.
Right after my eleventh birthday I visualized my self portrait through the view of a canvas and through the eyes of the spirit. I hoped to express the joy of co-creating, and the awe of feeling God's love and wisdom. This quote accompanies her 11-year-birthday self-portrait. I am so taken with this way she has expressed what it is to be, to be human and an instrument of Almighty God in His Revelation to all mankind. O He Desires To Be Known!
O Gracious God and Father through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, so let us be such co-creators with Thee, making every use of every talent and spiritual gift Thou hast so graciously bestowed on us for Good. Your Purpose be accomplished in us and through us, O Lord, by Thy Wonder Working Power and for the Glory of Thy Name forever and ever, amen! This Our Joy !
I keep thinking of this verse:
"And a little child shall lead them." ~Isaiah 11:6b
